Miley Cyrus has shot to fame in the past since her debut as Disney Star Hannah Montana in 2006. In the past 12 years alone, she’s released 6 studio albums, starred in 12 movies, and had 5 world tours! She has since been featured on the covers of Cosmopolitan, Billboard, GQ, Rolling Stones, and so many more well-known magazines. She’s climbed the ranks in her acting career, her music career, and as a pop star phenom. Read on and maybe you’ll find something you didn’t know about her. Like did you know that the world-famous Dolly Parton is her godmother? Greatness recognizes greatness. So, here are some of our favorite things about Miley Cyrus!

She can do everything

Not only can she sing and act, but she also has a great stage presence. She’s been a judge/coach on the singing competition television series The Voice and has been in 2 seasons since 2016, and we think she’s perfect for the job, she has a fantastic voice and she works so well with the contestants, you can see real improvement in their range and their confidence. The start of her acting career came around 2008 with her vocal role in the animated film Bolt, this skyrocketed her career from child-star to serious actor status. She has since acted in many notable films including The Last Song and has hosted famous New York comedy sketch show Saturday Night Live three times since her first appearance in 2011! She has earned a multitude of awards and nominations and was recognized as “Artist of the Year” by MTV in 2013 and was included on the Time 100 list of most influential people in 2008 and 2014! Just accolades all around for this fantastic young woman!

She’s an activist

Miley is an outspoken animal rights activist and adopted a vegan lifestyle in 2013! Score one for animals everywhere! She also visits sick fans in hospitals regularly and has donated millions of dollars over the years to various charities including Youth Service America and the Elton John AIDS Foundation. She really fights for what she believes in and it makes her a great role model for young adults everywhere. She’s pushed for LGBTQ rights and founded the Happy Hippie Foundation which works to “fight injustice facing homeless youth, LGBTQ youth and other vulnerable populations.”

She’s a style chameleon

At the start of her career with Disney she was a wholesome teen idol and then moved on to become a style icon who played on shock value. She’s even pushed for the legalization of marijuana and professed her love for the controversial substance, all the while maintaining her net worth, fans, and morals. She’s gone from precious Disney child-star to elegant red-carpet actress, and then from unpredictable young adult to a refined and mature star who has found her place in the world.

She sticks to her guns!

Miley Cyrus is constantly trying to make a difference and use her fame for the overall betterment of society and she has had wild success with this. She’s even been able to use her controversies to push for causes and ethics that she believes in. Most recently, she took back her apology for the near-nude photo published in Vanity Fair 10 years ago. She tweeted a photo of the cover that was featured in the New York Post with a headline that read “Miley’s Shame” and said that she’s “NOT SORRY.” And while the photo was controversial, it’s so refreshing to see a celebrity that doesn’t simply bend to the will of the public and would rather stick to her personal beliefs than be shamed for a photo for which she willingly posed. She explained on Jimmy Kimmel, “It was everyone else’s poisonous thoughts and minds that ended up turning this into something that it wasn’t meant to be. So, actually I shouldn’t be ashamed—they should be.” A woman who understands that she has no reason to be ashamed of her own body is a great thing. And a photo shot by Annie Leibovitz is obviously going to get attention, and this includes a fair share of negative attention, and Miley handled it fantastically.

Most recently, she’s announced her new collaboration Converse x Miley while appearing on Jimmy Kimmel Live in Los Angeles. She can be seen wearing it on the show and we are super excited about the new line and might have to purchase a pair of those bandana print leggings that look so cute on her! She was also seen wearing jewelry from Nouvel Heritage including the gorgeous Sparkles Diamond Ring in Yellow Gold, $4,400 (right); and the elegant Diamond Kiss Necklace in Rose Gold, $6,750 (below). Her sense of style is unparalleled, she kicked off the two-top-bun style back in 2013 and it has not slowed down since, girls everywhere started sporting it after she debuted this iconic look and it’s now her logo! It’s even the print on some of her new items in the Converse x Miley line. It’s sort of the more fashionable version of the Mickey Mouse logo.

She has simply picked up speed year after year since her Disney debut in 2006. Fans may have forgotten about her alter-ego Hannah Montana, but Miley is making herself relevant constantly and ensuring that she stays a household name for decades. She’s definitely the Madonna of this generation. Miley takes style, talent, and personality and rolls it all into one to become the real triple threat. She’s taken the Cyrus name and transformed it completely from what her father, Billy Ray Cyrus, had originally done. Now when people hear Cyrus, they think Miley. So, it seems she’s got a career in marketing as well. She is the ideal pop star, she asks for nothing but support and gives everything she can. We can’t wait to see what else she’ll accomplish in years to come. She is a true testament to the good that can come of fame and wealth.
