The kids are out of school and the weather is wonderful. So what do you do as a San Diego local? Head to the beach of course! Lay out in the sun, hit the surf, and enjoy the warm California weather. But don't head out unprepared! Here are the top ten must-have beach accessories for 2016.
Tarte 12-Hour Primer with Broad Spectrum SPF 30 Sunscreen
When getting ready for a day of fun in the sun, make sure your makeup is going to protect your skin while looking flawless. During the summer months, you’ll want to look for a foundation of BB Cream with added SPF such as the Tarte BB Tinted Treatment 12-Hour Primer with Broad Spectrum SPF 30 Sunscreen. You can use this product as a primer under your foundation for maximum coverage, or you can use it by itself!
Covergirl Lashblast Volume Waterproof Mascara
Another must-have for the beach is waterproof or water-resistant mascara. You don’t want to go into the water with well-defined eyelashes and come out looking like Gene Simmons right before a KISS concert. Personally, I’m a fan of Covergirl’s Lashblast Volume Waterproof Mascara. It brings instant volume and fullness while still being suitable for those of us who wear contact lenses.
Hopefully, by now, we are all well aware of the dangers of overexposure to UV Rays, but what about the eyes? Too much time in the sun leads to corneal sunburn or later increase your chances of cataracts. Don’t worry, though; big, bold, and flashy sunglasses are back in style, and I highly suggest getting yourself a pair. These are great not only to protect your eyes but because some of the latest designs are irresistible to pass up! Firm is a wonderful place to shop for normal and prescription lenses that are sure to improve your sunglasses game.
Pura Vida Bracelets
Have you heard of Pura Vida Bracelets? Not only are they a local company but they are also involved with over 190 charities. Each one of their bracelets are carefully handcrafted by artisans in Costa Rica. There is a large assortment of colors and sets on their site that help benefit different organizations across the world. The bracelets are 100% waterproof and adjustable from 2 to 5 inches in diameter. One of my favorites this season it the “Save The Orcas: Anti-Captivity” bracelet. It blends different blues together, giving off a beachy vibe. The best part is that $1 will be donated to the Whale and Dolphin Conservation for every bracelet sold.
Lilly Pulitzer Fun and Flirty Ali V-Neck T-Shirt Dress
A cover-up is an important piece to have when hitting the beach if you plan on grabbing lunch at a local restaurant or in case a breeze picks up. Lilly Pulitzer has a gorgeous line of lightweight and fun patterned t-shirt dresses that are sure to make a statement.
