5 Things I Love about Protein Coffee

Protein coffee has become a part of my daily routine, and I love it! As someone who’s always running out the door last minute, protein coffee is great for me because I can have it as a breakfast on the go or I can have it for an afternoon pick-me-up.

Protein coffee helps me stay on track and productive throughout my day, and also helps me recover from workouts. But that’s not all. Here are the 5 things I love about protein coffee:

  1. It’s Convenient

I’m the kind of person that sets 3 alarms in the morning and snoozes every single one of them. My hair and make-up routine are pretty minimalist. I have a handful of go-to outfits so I don’t have to spend too much time thinking about what I will wear. The bottom line is, I like it when things are quick and convenient.

Protein coffee is perfect for people like me. Because I’m always rushing out the door, I rarely eat breakfast or pack any sort of food to bring to work. But, it’s so easy to put a couple of scoops of my protein coffee in a shaker cup and run. Or (protip) you can just leave the bag of protein coffee in your car or at your desk so it’s there whenever you need it.

Whether I’m looking for a caffeine boost, a small meal/snack, or something for workout recovery, protein coffee has me covered. It’s my all-in-one mini-miracle worker.

  1. It’s Delicious

When I started drinking protein coffee, I tried a few duds. Some were chalky. Some were gritty. Some tasted more like chocolate milk or were “coffee-flavored” but didn’t actually have coffee in them.

I eventually landed on Complete Nutrition protein coffee and have stuck with it ever since. I think the difference is that they use real, Maine roast coffee beans to provide not only caffeine content but great flavor too. With 15 grams of protein and two shots of espresso, this protein coffee really does taste like a coffee drink that you’d get at a cafe.

Complete Nutrition comes in a couple of different flavors so you can get something really sweet and yummy, like caramel frappe or mocha latte, or you can keep it classic with the iced coffee.

  1. It Gives Me a Boost

Protein shakes and coffee each bring something to the table when it comes to boosting energy. Protein shakes are great for providing sustained energy and helping you recover after a workout. It fuels your body and mind so that you don’t crash in the afternoon.

Coffee, we all know, gives you that instant spike of energy. That’s why so many people drink it in the morning or in the early afternoon. It helps us stay alert and productive during the sleepiest times of the day.

Together, the caffeine from coffee and the sustained energy from protein shakes create a more stable and long-lasting energy boost. When the caffeine from a coffee starts to wear off, the protein in the shake will kick in and keep you from crashing.

Protein coffee can give you energy for your day that will keep you stable, alert, and focused. Whether you’re drinking in the morning to get the day going, you’re drinking after a workout to recover, or you’re drinking in the afternoon to prevent a slump or unhealthy snacking, protein coffee provides the best energy boost possible.

  1. It Keeps Me Healthy

Not only does it give you an energy boost, but there are a lot of health benefits from protein coffee as well. According to Healthcare Weekly, protein coffee:

  • Prevents muscle loss. Protein coffee in combination with regular workouts and a healthy diet can slow or prevent muscle mass loss. Protein coffee helps to fuel your muscles, which can help you gain or maintain muscle mass.

  • Enhances heart health. Protein coffee reduces high cholesterol. High cholesterol causes heart attacks and other heart health issues. It can also help to lower blood pressure, increase circulation, and help small blood vessels deliver more nutrients.

  • Has anti-inflammatory and antioxidant properties. Coffee provides minerals, vitamins, and nutrients, including anti-inflammatory and antioxidant phytochemicals. These phytochemicals help counteract free radicals from your environment.

  • Prevent metabolic syndrome. Metabolic syndrome is a precursor to many conditions common in the U.S., including type two diabetes, obesity, and hypertension. Regularly drinking protein coffee can keep your body healthy and prevent it.

Protein coffee is such an easy switch to make. With all of the health benefits that come from drinking it, it’s one of the easiest healthy decisions you’ll ever make.

  1. It Fights Cravings

If you find yourself getting snacky in the afternoon, protein coffee can be a good, low-calorie option. If you’re drinking Complete Nutrition, it’s only 100 calories per serving.

When I forget my protein coffee or my stash at work runs out, I find myself staring into the vending machine wishing there was a way to satisfy both my taste buds and my diet. But, it can be hard to find healthy snacks in a pinch, and it can be even harder to choose the healthy option when you’re already hungry.

Packing protein coffee sets me up for success. It feels like a cheat, but it’s not! You can feel like you’re indulging without ruining your diet for the day. After drinking my protein coffee, I no longer have a snack craving or junk food craving. I’m able to wait until my next meal and I’m not so hungry that I’m craving fast food anymore.

There are a lot of benefits to drinking protein coffee, both in the short term and the long term. Personally, I love protein coffee because it makes healthy eating easy. Before, I was eating junk food, fast food, or worse, gas station food, on the way to work and on lunch breaks. But, protein coffee is even easier than those options and it’s a whole lot better for me. That’s why protein coffee has become a part of my daily routine.
