Located in historic downtown Escondido, Burger Bench is the neighborhood eatery specializing in the perfect juicy burger and the best selection of local craft beer. Owner and founder Derek Loranger and wife Hoa had always wanted to be their own bosses; when the opportunity crossed their paths, they put it into motion. I grew up here in Escondido, and it has been a long time coming for us to finally have the best burger and beer place in all of southern California!

The Lorangers spent well over a year researching the best selection of low ABV (alcohol by volume) craft beers to best compliment their menu. They have some surprising items like a chorizo burger, grilled cheese sandwich, deliciously crisp salads, and truffle parmesan tater tots. The mantra for Burger Bench is "fresh and local." From the bacon to the beer and wine, with fresh daily bread and farm fresh eggs and meats, your food is sourced from just a few miles away. Now you can enjoy Burger Bench's Ice Cream Burger filled with bacon, bananas and peanut butter, and made with my gluten free chocolate chip cookies. So Good!    

Ice Cream Sandwich

Ice Cream Burger Recipe: 

-2 of Deanna’s Chocolate Chip Cookies        
-Scoop of Vanilla Ice Cream
-2 Pieces of Crisp Bacon                
-4 Slices of Banana
-1 Teaspoon of Peanut Butter            
-Chocolate Sprinkles 
-Drizzle of Strawberry Syrup  

Start with a cookie on the bottom; add the vanilla ice cream, then the chocolate sprinkles. Crisscross the bacon, top with bananas and peanut butter. Then, place the top cookie. Drizzle with Strawberry Syrup and wash it down with a delicious soda!
