Regular moderate exercise boosts your body’s feel-good hormones that help your immune system fight infection. We all know the relative risks stress poses on our bodies. Exercise slows down the release of the stress hormones which may help lower the chance of getting sick and aid to our overall health. Exercise can help to flush out bad bacteria from the lungs that contribute to colds and the flu.

Even something as simple as a daily 30-minute walk can do the trick! Did you know daily exercise can also help you sleep better not to mention help you to maintain a healthy weight. Movement is all it is, and our bodies crave it!

Antioxidants protect your body against free radical damage, while antibodies fight infections and diseases. Your body makes its own antioxidants, but you can supplement it with the use of dietary antioxidants such as vitamin C, vitamin E, beta-carotene, and phytochemicals.

Get these by eating eat more fruits and vegetables especially brightly colored ones such as berries, grapes, kale, spinach, carrots, and kiwis. Other foods that are high in antioxidants are dark chocolate, turmeric, green tea, sunflower seeds, and almonds. You may also take cranberry pills for vaginal health.

While not really antioxidants, probiotic supplements can also help reduce infections in the respiratory and gastrointestinal tracts.

Also, some medicinal mushrooms such as shiitake enhances the immune system of women with breast cancer. Reishi Tea is quickly becoming a trendy product on shelves at many health food markets. It is a natural boost to the immune system and may even reduce inflammation

Another way to boost your immune system is by taking colostrum, which is rich in antibodies. These are available in powder form and can be mixed with water, juice, and other healthy drinks.

Insufficient sleep can result in higher levels of cortisol, a stress hormone that suppresses immune function. This can adversely affect your health. To boost your immune system, get 7 to 8 hours of sleep every night. This is key to good health.

Set restrictions on your phone to put it away an hour before bed. Blue light like that from phones and tablets suppresses melatonin, the hormone that regulates sleep.

Create a bedtime routine. As a morning routine helps you to get up and ready for the day- so a nighttime routine helps you to wind down and rest. Take a bath, drink tea, journal, practice yoga, meditate, or do deep breathing exercises to help maintain a healthy sleep routine.

Your Sense of Humor

When they said that laughter is the best medicine, they weren’t kidding.
