Visit Old Town’s newest mezcal bar and tasting room Tahona for a special Mezcal Meditation on Thursday, July 25 at 6:30 p.m. This hour-long meditation and mezcal tasting class will be taught by Tahona’s mezcal expert and a mindfulness teacher, in a beautiful setting that is one of if not the only proper mezcal tasting rooms in San Diego, with more than 140 varieties of this agave-based spirit.
Tahona’s mezcal meditation ceremony on July 25 will be an organoleptic experience that uses the sense of taste, smell, touch and sight to bring guests into the present moment. This full-sensory ceremony will include a range of intentionally curated artisanal mezcals. Throughout the experience guests will practice gratitude by consciously thinking of everything that went into bringing the mezcal spirit into being: the rain and sun that helped the agave plant grow, the jimador who had to find the plants in the wild and harvest them under the pressing sun, the love and care that went into the extensive artisanal production process and the traditions that were passed on from generation to generation.
Tahona will close the event with a contemplative meditation meant to give participants the time and space to think and ponder about all the aspects of the experience and how it relates to the rest of life. Tickets to Tahona’s Mezcal Meditation are $20 per adult and may be purchased via Eventbrite at https://www.eventbrite.com/e/mezcal-meditation-at-tahona-tickets-64338306607
