Join one of the country’s few proper mezcal bars and tasting rooms as Tahona in Old Town announces a week-long celebration honoring its favorite Mexican spirit via Mezcal Week from Tuesday, September 10 through Sunday, September 15. From a special Taco Tuesday to brunch with live music—and one that mezcal enthusiasts truly won’t want to miss: the launch of Tahona’s Mezcal Society—guests will have plenty of opportunities to taste what makes mezcal so special.
Festivities kick off Tuesday, September 10 with the launch of Tahona’s new weekly Taco Omakase series, consisting of a specialty chef’s choice taco tasting menu crafted by Executive Chef Adrian Villareal, who has cooked around the world including at famed Noma in Denmark.
On Wednesday, September 11, Tahona will launch its Mezcal Society via an event from 8 to 11 p.m. with tickets available on Eventbrite and at the door while tickets last. Guests can expect samples of mezcal, a chance to sign up for Tahona’s Mezcal Society at a special rate, and the launch of new brand La Reina Raicilla.
Throughout the rest of Mezcal Week, guests can enjoy a Friday the 13th spooky mezcal cocktail and pop-up complimentary mezcal samples that will continue into Saturday, September 14; and on Sunday, September 15 a mezcal-themed weekend brunch with live music from 11 a.m. to 2 p.m. as well as a blind tasting from 6 to 7 p.m., a live Spanish guitar set by Sol Y Sambra from 6 to 9 p.m. and late night happy hour including 25% off mezcals from 8 p.m. onward.
Mezcal Week is a globally recognized event that commemorates the culture and history of mezcal. During these days, guests can also enjoy Tahona’s menu of modern cuisine with Oaxacan influence, including gourmet tacos and creative craft cocktails inspired by Mexican culture and traditions.
