Kid's Marathon Mile at Legoland California
Fun Event that Encourages Exercise for the Whole Family.
If you're a parent looking for something active and fun for your family to do after the holidays that will help everyone start the year off right, then check out the Kid's Marathon Mile at Legoland California! It takes place on Saturday, January 16th. Your kids will love running, walking, skipping or being pushed in a stroller along this one mile race. Participants of the Legoland Kid's Marathon Mile will all receive a T–shirt and a finisher’s medal.
The race is divided into age categories. It begins at 8:00 am, starting with the youngest kids first and proceeding in waves as the the age groups increase. As long as you and your kids do not get distracted by all of the life–sized legos around the park (which, let's be honest, is a distinct possibility), you can make it to the finish line and receive your medal. Each kid is allowed to have one parent with them as part of the registration. Every adult after that will have to register as a “big kid.” Once the event ends at 10 am, the opening of the Legoland Sea Life Aquarium will begin, and those registered will be able to enter the park for free. Parents will receive 50% off admission.
The mile will start just outside of the Legoland main entrance near the Tyke Hike and will continue into Legoland and will make a loop of the park. The post event activities will take place in the lower parking lot area. Turn this event into a full day of fun and exercise for the whole family!
There will also be a fun Diaper Dash for babies that still travel on all fours. This race is just for fun and is not timed, so any results will not be posted. At the end of the event, participants get to enjoy the post event party with a DJ, activities, and light refreshments. Pick up your bib at 7:00 am; day–of event registration will be found at the entrance. The Diaper Dash starts at 7:00 am.
