Hotel del Coronado, a San Diego gem, turned up the heat and transformed into Club Crown for an '80s-themed New Year's Eve bash that didn’t miss a beat. With Cindi Lauper-inspired dancers, an irresistible dessert station, a beautiful bar, and a DJ and dancefloor, it wasn’t just the girls who had fun. Everyone let loose and danced the night away—some wore their best off-the-shoulder tops and parachute pants, while others wowed in sequined ball gowns and bow ties.

And while the parents were transported to the days of cassette tapes, big hair, and leg warmers, a kid-friendly soirée was available on the premises. Because kids don’t appreciate the finer things that the eighties had to offer, the younger crown enjoyed games, crafts, food, ice skating, dancing, and so much more.

Another amazing event put on by Hotel Del was called Far East Fantasy. This was a black-tie affair, not for the whole family. With authentic sights and sounds, attendees were whisked away to ancient Asian empires where they enjoyed a five-course meal, open bar, and live music by The Mighty Untouchables.

But the experiences didn’t end with the parties. This hotel has the most famous elevator in all the land––and it’s still operated by a living person. As guests rode the famous lift up to their rooms, they couldn’t help but imagine the legendary Frank Sinatra taking the very same elevator to his room all those years ago.
