Being bland in flavor, however, is what makes meal replacements somewhat effective, filling but also you never end up overeating. Soylent is a popular meal replacement product among the many others providing a quick and easy way to get all your required vitamins and minerals in one serving. The product Soylent is advertised as intended to replace every meal but can replace any meal. This begs the question: Is Soylent healthy and is Soylent weight loss a thing?
What is Soylent?
Soylent meal replacement products claim to be a complete meal providing 20 percent of your daily nutrient needs in each 400 calorie serving. The co-founders of Soylent stated that they came up with the idea when they realized how frustrated they were getting with their diets. They were finding themselves running out of time on hectic days, which lead to eating fast foods and freezer meals most days.
Thus Soylent was born being a meal replacement product that can be used as an easy to prepare healthy alternative on frantic days. Soylent provides customers with five distinct products:

Soylent Squared: On-the-go mini nutrition bar. Comes in flavors chocolate brownie, citrus berry, & salted caramel.
Soylent Powder: A meal replacement powder. Comes in flavors original and cacao.
Soylent Bridge: An on-the-go in-between meals nutrition drink. Comes in the flavor chocolate.
All of the ingredients in the products are considered legal and safe by the Food and Drug Administration. It is also vegan, lactose-free, plant-based, and non-GMO it also is gluten-free but isn't advertised as such.
Soylent meal replacement drinks, including the cafe and powder products, are a mix of ingredients such as soy protein isolate, isomaltulose, high oleic sunflower oils, and vitamins and minerals. Most meal replacement drinks have standard ingredients such as these, but they are usually not very recognizable. Lets briefly break down these ingredients to see if they are deemed healthy.
Isomaltulose is a carbohydrate made up of two sugars: glucose and fructose. This ingredient is used frequently in the food industry because it is utilized as a replacement for table sugar. It is considered healthier because the two components are bonded together differently, which results in the ingredient being digested slower in our bodies. Depending on how your body responds to high-fat content is the main factor to look for when dealing with Soylent and consuming more than one a day.
The Carbs and Protein. Soylent, in general, has an excellent percentage of carbohydrates and protein. The protein content, being 20 grams, is what has really turned peoples heads to Soylent over time. Having 20 grams of protein in a meal replacement drink is very helpful when it comes to feeling more satisfied throughout the day and building lean muscle mass.
Soylent For Weight Loss and Health?
Soylent was never displayed as a weight-loss product and isn't advertised as such, but if you use the product the right way, you could lose weight. Soylent works to help people lose weight by restricting peoples calories and keeping people from overeating or unhealthy snacking.

When Soylent is used as a weight loss aid and liquid diet, it may start to have some minor adverse effects. However, the meal replacement can lead to providing positive benefits for people wanting to have a healthier lifestyle and lead to weight loss as a result.
