Scripps Mercy Hospital's 44th Annual Mercy Ball
Holiday charity gala benefits Scripps Hospital.
Port Pavilion on Broadway Pier
The Scripps Mercy Hospital just had its 125th birthday. Founded in 1890, it is the oldest running hospital in the San Diego region. Located in Chula Vista, Scripps Mercy Hospital provides all levels of care for people throughout San Diego, saving the lives of individuals young and old. As the holiday season approaches and philanthropic events begin to grace the San Diego social scene, one event benefactors should consider attending is the Mercy Ball, benefiting the Scripps Mercy Hospital in Chula Vista.
The 44th annual Mercy Ball is on Saturday, November 21, 2015 in the Port Pavilion on Broadway Pier in San Diego. This luxurious location is located in Downtown San Diego overlooking the San Diego Bay, and it is a long-standing San Diego landmark. First constructed in 1919, the Port Pavilion has an outdoor viewing area for guests to take in the San Diego skyline. This is a late-night event; reception for the Mercy Ball will begin at 6pm, and dinner will be served around 7:15pm. The event is scheduled to run until just before midnight.
The Mercy Ball will feature music and entertainment by Haute Chile, a high-energy musical group that will likely be performing big band jazz for the event. During the night, there will also be dancing, a high-quality dinner and a live auction. Some of the items up for auction include a 2 year Lexus car lease, an in-home private dinner for 10 people prepared by Maureen King and Lois Stanton, and an in-home dinner for 12 people prepared by Chef Andrew Spurgin. More auction items will be available as the event approaches, and they are sure to be coveted high-end luxuries.
The dress code for the Mercy Ball is black tie or—for those feeling adventurous—optional 1920's attire. In the past, guests to the Mercy Ball have worn tuxedos and suits, as well as floor-length gowns with wraps and elegant heels. Valet parking will be available at the event, so searching for Downtown parking will not be an issue.
Tickets for this event are currently being sold for $500 per guest. Also available are personal Flagship tables for 10 people each that are currently being sold for $5,000. To potential guests of the Mercy Ball who own their own company, the Mercy Ball also offers potential sponsorship packages. Companies who donate large sums of money to the Mercy Ball event will receive various perks, including tickets to the Mercy Ball, invitations to a separate patron party, a tribute in the Mercy Ball’s program and recognition on the event’s website. In order to qualify for these Company Sponsorship perks, companies must donate a minimum of $2,500.
Funds raised at the Mercy Ball via ticket sales and the live auction will be used to support the Maternal and Child Health program at Scripps Mercy Hospital to help the delivery and development of future Scripps Mercy babies.
