Shred Documents to "Shred Cancer"
All Proceeds of Annual Shredding Event to Support Vital Cancer Research
Shred Cancer with ProShred
The American Institute for Cancer Research (AICR) is teaming up with ProShred Security to host its fourth annual, nationwide Shred Cancer event. Community members are invited to shred their personal documents in order to raise funds for cancer research and increase awareness about cancer prevention.
The San Diego ProShred office will be holding the event on Saturday, June 3rd and Sunday, June 4th at the Gelson’s Market shopping center parking lot (7660 El Camino Real, Carlsbad) from 10:00am to 2:00pm on both days. Individuals are welcome to bring their documents to watch one of ProShred's on-site shredding trucks safely and securely destroy any confidential personal documents. The participation cost of $5 per standard file box will go directly towards funding AICR’s cancer research program. Attendees are also welcome to bring any old electronic items, where they will be recycled for free compliments of Green Hat Electronics. For only $10 participants can also have their computer hard drive removed and destroyed while they watch.
Participants will receive a goodie bag with cancer-prevention recipes and other materials from our sponsors, Gatto, Pope & Walwick, Bank of Southern California, Pay It Forward Processing, Green Hat Electronics, Gelson’s Market and the AICR.
The Shred Cancer event was launched on National Cancer Survivors Day in 2014 and has now raised over $100,000 for the AICR’s cancer research program over the past three years. For more details and to find an event near you visit AICR Shred Cancer.
