Having a wedding at sea sounds quite expensive. But it is actually a great options when planning your special day. There are a few reasons why many actually get married at sea. Here are a few:

  1. It can actually be cheaper.

  2. It is a type of destination wedding.

  3. You can share the experience with your bridal party and family.

  4. It can be flexible and a better option when budgeting for your big day.

  5. You are able to start your honeymoon early.

  6. Guests can also save on a vacation, as this will be a sort of vacation.

  7. You can limit the guest list to your exceptions.

  8. You can enjoy quality time with your loved ones.

  9. You’re saving on décor, flowers, a DJ, and a venue.

  10. And you can be that unique couple that stands out from the crowd.

These facts all stand out to those individuals who want to save money and not spend an exhaustive amount of money on a wedding. However, sometimes being with all your family can be a really great way to connect and relax.

Having a wedding at sea can be quite gorgeous. I know many cruise lines just like Disney Cruise Lines do weddings on the cruise line and on shore. However, most are done on their private island of Castaway Cay. These weddings are truly beautiful and it is quite the treat for every family.

You get to experience the Caribbean with family as well as Disney’s private island and all that Disney has to offer. The ship has a chapel on board that typical guests do not usually see. You can be married in the chapel and there is also a room on board to hold the reception.

As for sticking to budget on a wedding at sea, it is all in all not as expensive as a normal wedding would be. A wedding that has at least 150 guests total at about $98 per plate in addition to a DJ, photographer, etc. These weddings usually go nowhere over the $10,000 mark, if even that. If I had the chance to be married at sea, I think I would have chosen that route. I know many who have gone this route, rather than having a destination wedding and they saved tons of money. So they had plenty of extra cash for the vacation of a lifetime and with family and friends. It is undeniably one of the best decisions for a wedding.
