4 Reasons You Should Visit Niagara Falls If You Haven't

The Beauty of Niagara Falls

The Beauty of Niagara Falls

The Niagara Falls consists of three waterfalls: the Bridal Veil Falls, the American Falls and the Horseshoe Falls. Although they may not geographically be the largest waterfalls in the world, the Niagara Falls are most definitely the most popular ones by far with over 20 million people traveling to see them from all parts of the world each year. Nevertheless, there are people out there who have not yet visited the falls or any of the other attractions nearby. If you are one of those people, consider these four reasons as to why you absolutely must visit Niagara Falls.

Hornblower Niagara Cruises

The Hornblower cruise entered its fourth year in 2017 and it has already become the number one attraction in the area. All visitors are loaded onto a catamaran which takes you deep into the heart of the Niagara Falls, and this is quite literally the closest you can ever get to the mighty Niagara. You will get an up close and personal feel of the mist formations, the tremendous flow of water and the awe-inspiring rumble inside the Niagara Great Gorge, as you float past the Bridal Veil Falls and American Falls to enter the mighty Horseshoe Falls. Even those that have been on the cruise multiple times will tell you that it’s nothing like anything else.

If the sea fascinates you and you even have a mild interest in aquatic animals residing in the great depths of the ocean, you will love Marineland. Even if you don’t, your kids certainly will! There are sea lions, a huge killer whale, dolphins and the world’s biggest population of Beluga whales in an enclosed facility. The underwater viewing stations are brilliant as they provide you with an unmatched sense of immersion with these amazing animals. If you want, there are special feeding sessions for Beluga whales that you can be a part of (not as food of course!) and that’s quite an experience, given how close it lets you get to these fascinating creatures. Once you are done with the park, there’s a camping ground right beside it that you can explore with your kids.

WildPlay Niagara Ziplining

This is something that only started last year and has already soared up in terms of popularity. It is exactly what it sounds like; you will zipline at high speed from the Grand View Market Place and descend 670 meters below, into the Great Gorge. Since this is a ride cleared for even 7-year olds, human supervision guides the four parallel ziplines to ensure safety. There is also an obstacle course for kids above five years old, which includes a zipline, in addition to the likes of monkey bars, log ladders, etc. If you have a sporty kid, he/she will love it.

The Wine

Unknown to many, the Niagara Falls region is also home to some of Canada’s greatest wineries. After a day of adventure at the Falls, you could be coming back to some of the greatest wines in the whole world at your fine dining hotel. On the other hand, if you are a true wine aficionado, then head over directly to the vineyards nearby to see how it’s done and taste a glass of Merlot or Riesling if you wish. There are also wine boutiques and special wine restaurants that welcome guests in for a fine wine lunch or dinner. Speaking of food, you won’t be disappointed on that front either as the region, and most of the hotels, also have an excellent collection of local cuisines made from the local produce itself.

If you love seeing new things and taking an adventure, these four reasons should hopefully peak your interest in the Niagara Falls. Keep in mind that these are just some of the popular attractions in the region and certainly not the only ones. Naturally, even if you live close to the falls, you will probably want to stay over for a few nights at least to experience all that it has to offer. That will not be a problem at all, though, because a number of excellent Niagara Falls hotels have sprung up in the area over the years and there’s something for everybody; whether you are on a budget or you are looking for the most luxurious experience possible. The only thing you really need to do now is log online and book those tickets.
