Dr. Michael Lajin is a Gastroenterologist and Advanced Endoscopist affiliated with SHARP health system in San Diego. He is board certified in Gastroenterology and completed an additional advanced Endoscopy fellowship. He was trained by internationally-recognized experts and research pioneers in the field of interventional endoscopy, including: Dr. Marc F. Catalano, Dr. Joseph E. Geenen and Dr. Nalini M. Guda. Since moving to San Diego in 2012, he has introduced multiple advanced endoscopic procedures to SHARP Grossmont and Coronado hospitals, such as Endoscopic ultrasound, Endoscopic Suturing and EUS-guided drainage.
Incorporating these advanced techniques contributed to Grossmont hospital’s recent designation as a "Center of Excellence" by the American Society of Gastrointestinal Endoscopy. Dr. Lajin is a member in the American Society of Gastrointestinal Endoscopy, European Society of Gastrointestinal Endoscopy, American Gastroenterology Association and American College of Gastroenterology. His clinical interests include early detection of pancreatic cancer, advanced pancreatic biliary endoscopy, Endoscopic ultrasound, Endoscopic suturing, pancreatic cysts, Colon cancer screening, Gastroesophageal reflux disease, Barrett ablation, single balloon enteroscopy, enteral stents and endoscopic mucosal resection.
