San Diego Ultimate Women’s Expo Recap
Pampering Yourself from Head to Toe Is What You Get at Women’s Expo
Do free massages, peelings, manicures, haircuts, styling, makeup, and fashion shows along with some informative health and fitness seminars sound like too much to fit all in one weekend? This and much more was a part of the Women’s Expo package that was up for grabs for the ladies of San Diego. You couldn’t go wrong with bringing your mom, sister, girlfriend, or just your beautiful self – good times were guaranteed at the Ultimate Women’s Expo.
Academy Award-nominated actress, Mariel Hemingway, launched things off in the speaker’s corner on the opening day. Mariel is also the author of bestselling book "Finding My Balance" and cookbook "Mariel’s Kitchen". At the Expo, she spoke about healthy lifestyle, meditation, and discussed her memoir "Out Came the Sun: Overcoming the Legacy of Mental Illness, Addiction, and Suicide in My Family".
Melissa Rivers, producer and co-host of E’s "Fashion Police", was the second celebrity speaker of the day. Melissa explained her work as an ambassador for OUR HOPE Grief Support Center and talked about her favorite charities. Honestly sharing her story of dealing with losing a loved one, she is also very passionate about raising awareness for coping with pain and anguish in the wake of loss.
Brooke Burke-Charvet, actress, TV host, and definitely one of social media’s most followed moms, was the highlight of the second day at the Expo. Beautiful and successful Brooke attracted a lot of ladies to hear her speak about being a mom of four, sharing her slim down secrets, and giving tips on healthier living. Currently working as a CEO of the social mom website ModernMom.com, she announced that this fall she will be launching a new podcast, "The Brooke Burke Show".
Other seminars on women’s health, fresh and easy cooking, career, and lifestyle were very well received. A lot of women were eager to hear about the changes they can make for their well-being. Workshops were extremely popular throughout both days, especially the knitting (they swear it’s a great stress-easing tool for all ages) and a craft workshop. Booth after booth, over 400 of them, creative ideas and quality products for women filled up the San Diego Convention Center.
New nail polish color for your nails, trendy make-up touch, checking out how you would look with longer hair thanks to simple
clip-on hair extensions, or a beneficial knot-busting massage, all put a lot of smiles on a lot of faces and truly marked the weekend for local women.
Sometimes, the small things are out there and they are free, so make sure you don’t miss the next Ultimate Women’s Expo, which is a catch-all event held annually, every September in San Diego. There are other Expo shows organized throughout the country with the biggest one being in Los Angeles in mid-October, so if you find yourself in L.A., go ahead and grab yourself the Ultimate Women’s experience.
