Now:  With Deepak Chopra’s Center for Wellbeing headquartered on–property, guests can experience customized instruction in daily wellness practices.

Then:  The decadent "chocolate mousse" was a cult favorite and guilt-free at just 35 calories.

Now:  Vegetarian, gluten-free, ayurvedic options are sprinkled throughout all menus.

Then: Shattering the lone exercise standard, guests got moving with fun group activities like hula–hoop.

Now: More than 52 dynamic group classes in popular practices including spin, yoga and TRX are packed each week.

Then: Men and athletes flocked to La Costa after being ignored by the spa world for the best equipment in the country.

Now: Gentlemen treatments are popular, but ladies rule. The spa courtyard pool is abuzz most weekends with gal pals celebrating après–treatment with poolside Bellini’s and small bites.

In order to fully comprehend why this spa is so amazing, we recently visited the Omni La Costa Resort & Spa and experienced one of their renowned signature massage services first hand. Entering the check-in area of the spa, we were greeted with sweet smells of jasmine and delightfully friendly staff. While waiting for the massage, we browsed their boutique area which boasts some high–end gifts, ranging from designer bathing suits, accessories, and clothing, as well as all-natural candles and fragrances. Once we were called back for our massage, we were greeted by an attendant who provided a brief tour of the spa facility, which included many of the amenities discussed above, as well as one of the most serene waiting rooms where guests can enjoy a warm cup of tea or fruit–infused water as they wait for their massage. While waiting in white fluffy bathrobes, the tranquil music and light ocean breezes that perfumed the room provided a silent calming effect that many in the room seemed to utilize as the perfect opportunity for reflection and meditation. Upon hearing our names called, the attendant provided a warm greeting in a soft voice as she guided us to our room for what was a most ataractic massage experience.
