In recent years, online gambling has stolen headlines, not just here but all around the world, so much so that many people have forgotten just how thrilling and exciting it can be to step through the doors of a glitzy and glamorous land-based casino.
In this article, we pay homage to some of the most brilliant examples of that, looking at a range of casinos from North America, Europe, Asia, and farther afield. To find out about some of the most jaw-droppingly stunning casinos on the planet, read on…
Caesars Palace
Opened in 1966 by legendary casino and hotel developer Jay Sarno, this 3,960-room Las Vegas casino resort is one of the most iconic places to wager on the planet. Throughout its almost 60-year history, it has not only played host to high-stakes table drama but also to some of the biggest names in music and entertainment.
In 1967, Frank Sinatra signed a three-year deal to play at Caesars Palace – one that was infamously bookended with hotel executive Sanford Waterman pointing a gun at him following a disagreement over a high-stakes baccarat game.
In modern times, there have been far fewer Mexican standoffs but no shortage of acts, with Adele, Jerry Seinfeld, Sting, and Rod Stewart all playing at the casino in recent years. Not content with simply dominating the Las Vegas strip, they have recently moved online in a bid to expand their presence. The online sector of their business is performing well, and the latest Caesars bonus codes at Casino.org show they are among the market leaders.
Casino de Monte Carlo
Located in Monaco, to the south of France, the Casino de Monte Carlo is perhaps the most glamorous spot on the planet to make a wager. Opened in July 1865 by the Monegasque royal family as a means of making money for the state, the casino put Monaco on the map.
In the early decades, it attracted a who’s who of European culture, with famous faces such as Brothers Karamazov and Crime and Punishment author Fyodor Dostoyevsky as well as the likes of Winston Churchill and Count of Monte Cristo author Alexandre Dumas frequenting the venue.
Despite its links to famous faces, the Casino de Monte Carlo is perhaps most famous for its connection to the fictional character of James Bond. Inspired by visits to the casino himself, 007 author Ian Fleming used the venue as a setting for his first Bond novel, Casino Royale.
Nowadays, tourists don’t just visit Monte Carlo to experience the uniquely glamorous interior of the area's famous casino, but also to pay homage to the world’s most famous spy.
The Venetian Macao
The 47th President of the United States has made much of his disdain for China’s attempts to outdo America in terms of manufacturing and trade, but what about one of his favorite pastimes – casino gambling?
In recent decades, Macao, a special administrative region of the PR of China, has taken American casino gambling and improved it. Convincing the Las Vegas Sands company to open a bigger, better, and more modern Venetian casino in Macao was just one step on the journey to creating a gambling industry seven times larger than that of Sin City.
Crown Sydney
In these lists, Australia and New Zealand are typically omitted, which is a shame as they are home to some of the coolest casinos in the world. Our final entry today comes from the Australian capital the aptly named Crown Sydney.
Completed in March 2020 at an estimated cost of AUS$ 2.2 billion, the building itself is simply stunning. Not only does it have a floor area of 1.577 million square foot, but it is also officially the tallest building in Sydney.
Inside, the casino is the picture of modern elegance and opulence, making it the perfect place to relax, wager, and socialize for Australia’s most elite clientele.
