2) Himalayan Curry and Grill - San Diego

Another fine dining Indian restaurant that is using the name of the tallest mountain range in the world, the Himalayas. Himalayan Curry & Grill has been in the restaurant business for over 20 years and they’re very proud of how they prepare their food – insisting on fresh, homemade, and never reheated or precooked! Naan and breads are made from scratch, just like their desserts, out of which their Rasmalai and Kheer are highly recommended. For the curious fans of culinary surprises, each day the restaurant is offering a Chef’s Special which you won’t find on the menu and which is entirely improvised. 3) Sitar India – San Diego

Located in Towers at Sorrento, on the food court, Sitar India has one of the best selection of Indian food in San Diego. The menu holds a variety of options that includes signature curries, kababs, vegan, vegetarian, and even South Indian choices. On Saturdays, Sitar India has a popular buffet from 4 to 9 that offers a very affordable price for all-you-can-eat lovers. On their dessert list, you can find famous Indian rice pudding (Kheer), carrot pudding, and Rasmalai which is an Indian version of a cheesecake.

4) Masala Street – La Jolla

Masala Street is fairly new, but a well-known restaurant that will find its place on almost every best Indian Restaurant list in San Diego. Their famous Chef Hemant Oberoi has a way to put a restaurant on those top lists, as he did with restaurants such as Varq, Zodiac Grill, or Blue Ginger. With a pretty impressive 40-year career as a Chef, Oberoi is known as a culinary trendsetter, mixing Indian and western cuisine, and creating his unique dishes that are not always à la carte but can always be asked for. Masala Street is classic and chic, with a versatile menu full of traditional Indian food with a California twist in some dishes, and a birthday program which offers a nice surprise for all the club members.
