Fire & Flavor Turkey Perfect Herb Brine kit

½ cup butter

Preheat the oven to 325˚ F. Remove the innards from the turkey. Rinse turkey well under cold water. Soak the turkey in brine, then cover and refrigerate for at least 5 hours, up to 12 hours. Remove the turkey from brine; place turkey breast-side up in a large roasting pan. Rub entire turkey with butter. Loosely tie the drumsticks together with kitchen string, then cover the turkey with aluminum foil. Roast turkey for 2 ½ hours. Pull from the oven to safely remove the foil cover; baste with surrounding juices. Continue roasting uncovered for 45 minutes to 1 hour longer, or until meat thermometer registers 165°F from the largest part of the thigh. Remove from the oven and place on a platter. Cover with foil and let rest for 20 minutes before carving.
