30 Shades of Blue

Blue is having a major moment. Appearing on everything from nails to hair, the vivid hue is here to stay and we at FINE magazine LOVE IT!

Why you ask? The color was a standout on the fall runways, conveying a luxurious feel without being predictable.

Everything from cobalt blue at Valentino, to sky-blue (yes, sky-blue for fall – one of the runway’s unexpected trends) at Prada, there should be plenty of shades to keep you satisfied all season long.

Try wearing the color from head-to-toe, like Narciso Rodriguez did with this dress from her collection.

Or play with a teal separate, such as Oscar de la Renta’s pencil skirt, with a top in an equally strong shade, such as navy, for added zing.

A blue eye shadow is a great way to embrace this blue crush. The shadow color contrasts gorgeously with the whites of eyes and produce a brightening effect. Use them as an accent color on one part of the eye or experiment with a smoldering navy eye – like the one seen at Thakoon – for a modern look.

A blue mani – such as teal blue – is also great for fall and can add a fun pop of color to your look. Just be sure to choose a color that balances with your natural skin tone, otherwise it can clash.

Givenchy hair stylist, Luigi Murenu, even gave his models a faux neon blue die job, creating a look has a fun Victorian punk quality.

And Chanel played with blue accessories, such as this blue fur "helmut hat."
