Sore legs are a worldwide phenomenon and can happen to anyone. Sometimes the pain is too much that you are not able to walk or even move. They can occur because of many reasons that cause your muscles to stress out. Even if you exercise regularly, sore muscles can still hit you anytime, although they can be worse if you are not that physically active. Whatever reason they have, or no matter how severe they are, they are inconvenient and here we will give you seven tips to treat your sore muscles.
1. No Rest Immediately
It can feel a little tempting but resting immediately after a run or walk will make your pain worse. You can try and move around a little before you hit the bed. The point is to get your muscles distressed, and you can do that by moving slowly, so no need to be super intense. You can walk at a slow pace in your own house or go for a light stroll in the neighborhood. This will get the blood through your muscles, and you will start feeling better.
2. Drinking Water
Water is what we drink to stay healthy and hydrated, and that is what comes to our rescue when our body is aching. Water helps in restoring all the vitals in the muscles. You can also drink protein shakes, coconut water, or vitamin water to help quicken the process.
3. Stretching
Stretching is a very crucial part of any workout because it gets our muscles ready for the upcoming exercise. There is a pre-workout stretch and a post-workout stretch. Many people do not know this and just go on with their regime directly, and that can stress out your body quickly. Stretching after the exercise helps the muscles relax, and they will not get stiff. Try doing yoga, pilates, or jumping jacks; they will all do the trick.
4. CBD Oil Massage
Massage helps you relax pain or not. So why not get a proper one when you actually do need it? CBD is the best oil to get a massage with because the oil itself contains some incredible qualities that help in pain relief. It has anti-inflammatory properties and has proved to be a huge pain relief for anything starting from a headache to sore muscles. Massage de-stresses our muscles, and we instantly begin to feel some difference.
5. Naps
After you have done some stretching, you can take a nap of half an hour to gain back the energy that was consumed during your exercise or run. Sleep plays an important role in helping us gain back our strength, and a nap will get you right on track, and you will also not feel tired anymore.
6. Proteins
As we mentioned above, proteins are also a great way to treat your sore muscles as they are full of nutrients. You can eat peanut butter on a bread slice, fish or some turkey, whatever you like. If you want the protein to work properly, you should take it immediately after the workout because that is when it will work the most.
We hope that these tips helped you and will prove useful the next time your muscles are all worked up.
