For entrepreneur, visionary, and Theon Global CEO Larry Puckett, success has always been about more than business. It’s about purpose — creating meaningful impact, building things that last, and giving back to others. But even for someone who’s spent decades in boardrooms and innovation labs, nothing could have prepared him for the tranquility and fulfillment that awaited him on a sprawling piece of East Texas land now known as Fair Winds Ranch.
Set just outside of Jacksonville, roughly forty minutes from Tyler, Fair Winds Ranch represents the next chapter of Puckett’s extraordinary journey — one defined not by deals and deadlines, but by connection, nature, and family. “Fair Winds Ranch is a truly remarkable property located in East Texas, just outside of Jacksonville, approximately forty minutes from Tyler. The ranch was named by its founder, Terry Thompson, many years ago. It features a nearly perfect square shape, encompassing five natural springs, two of which create ponds. Owl Creek runs along one boundary, and roughly 50% of the land is wooded. We experience breathtaking sunrises and sunsets, with every view resembling a portrait. Our entire family cherishes this place, and we are immensely grateful to serve as stewards of such a beautiful location.”
When you scroll through Larry’s Instagram feed, it’s clear he’s found his sanctuary. Between moments of family gatherings and scenic shots of golden-hour skies, Fair Winds Ranch looks like something out of a Texas dreamscape — serene, vast, and full of purpose. It’s not just a property; it’s a legacy.

Before this move, Larry and his wife were living in The Woodlands, a bustling suburban enclave north of Houston known for its sophistication and amenities. But even surrounded by comfort, something was missing. “We relocated from The Woodlands, just north of Houston. For the past five years, we had been searching for our dream property, with my daughter-in-law, Brittany, ultimately discovering it. Over that time, we explored 30 to 40 properties. The moment we arrived at Fair Winds, we recognized it as our future home.”
For someone with Larry’s entrepreneurial energy, Fair Winds Ranch represents a deliberate change of pace — one that challenges and rewards in equal measure. He explains the contrast between the worlds of city convenience and rural authenticity with refreshing honesty. “The contrast between ranch life and city life is significant. In the city, we had everything readily available, with deliveries arriving within minutes. We were surrounded by shopping and fine dining options and had a variety of services at our disposal. On the other hand, owning a ranch has transformed our lifestyle. We are situated in a very rural area, surrounded by other ranches, with our nearest neighbors out of sight and earshot. Small-town shopping is about 15 minutes away, while larger retail chains are approximately 40 minutes from our location. Perhaps the most notable difference is that ranch life entails continuous work. There are always fields to manage, repairs to complete, dirt to move, trees and branches to clear, and farm equipment to maintain. Fortunately, we are blessed with a collaborative family and the right support to help us manage these responsibilities. While balancing this work with running my companies can be challenging, the rewards are worth it, and we look forward to contributing to Fair Winds.”

That balance between relentless work and deep gratitude has defined Larry’s professional ethos for years. As the leader of Theon Global and a venture capitalist with an eye for innovation, he’s constantly exploring ways to improve lives and industries alike. But at Fair Winds, the work takes on a different kind of meaning — one that nourishes rather than drains. “This transition has been tremendously beneficial for me. I believe that hard work is essential for maintaining both mental and physical well-being. One must remain disciplined with their schedule. Owning a ranch embodies the physical effort and mental resilience required of an entrepreneur.”
When he’s not managing his companies or mentoring other entrepreneurs, Larry can be found alongside his family, overseeing upgrades and improvements to their East Texas haven. “Since acquiring the ranch, we have renovated one of the cabins and completed several other improvements. However, the project we are most excited about is the construction of our dream pool and backyard. Over the years, we have identified our preferences for a pool, and we are fully committed to creating one that meets all our desires. It promises to be an extraordinary outdoor space, and my wife is particularly enthusiastic—she has even expressed her excitement through tears. As of today, we are less than two weeks away from completion.”
It’s easy to see why Larry’s story resonates with so many followers online. His posts often reflect a balance of ambition and appreciation — where the same drive that built his business empire now fuels his stewardship of land, legacy, and family connection.
That connection is the heart of everything for Larry. “Our goal is quite straightforward. We value our privacy and cherish close family ties. Having our entire family together in a secluded location is a vital aspect of that objective. We aim to nurture the local wildlife and cultivate our own food while enjoying the opportunity to raise various animals. Ultimately, my wish is to appreciate this stunning view every day.”

Even though real estate wasn’t always part of his plan, Fair Winds Ranch has become one of the most meaningful investments of his life — a tangible expression of patience, timing, and faith. “Real estate has not been a lifelong passion for me; in fact, I have rented more properties than I have owned. We preferred the flexibility of being able to relocate without the constraints of property ownership. Nonetheless, we always knew there would come a time when we would find our forever ranch, and we are truly thankful that we have. On a personal level, my goal is to be a devoted husband, father, and grandfather. I strive to be my best self in these roles. Professionally, my ambitions are continually evolving as I pursue new opportunities. I am currently focused on expanding our portfolio and integrating a technological framework into our ecosystems. Additionally, I am in the exploration stage with a company developing a groundbreaking idea that has the potential to save hundreds, if not thousands, of lives each year.”

For a man whose ventures have impacted countless lives, Fair Winds Ranch feels like both a culmination and a new beginning — a physical manifestation of everything Larry Puckett stands for: innovation, gratitude, and legacy. It’s a place where the noise of the world fades and family laughter carries across open fields.
And while Larry may continue to shape industries and invest in ideas that change the world, it’s here, amid the East Texas sunrise and the rhythm of ranch life, that he’s found something even more profound — peace, purpose, and the fair winds that guide him forward.
