Don’t we all just wish there was a magic pill to revive energy? Because then, you can kiss goodbye to the midday slumber that gets in the way of your work and other activities.
There are many reasons why you feel drained out early in the day. But the most evident one is not getting proper rest or sleep. While there are ways to improve your sleep, we will discuss all the other things that might help you live your day a little more energetically.
Breakfast
Breakfast is, without a doubt, the most important meal of the day. Most people make the mistake of skipping it out entirely or having a quick breakfast without nutritious food. You see, what you have for breakfast decides how energized you will be during the day.
You get your energy from food, and if that is the very thing missing, then no wonder your gas tank runs out so quickly.
Having slow-digestive food like protein will increase the energy you have. Since it digests slowly, the energy released is going to be more gradual and for longer. Rather than the quick surges you see from coffee and sugary items that fall back even faster, you will have a more sustained form of energy.
Daylight
There are so many reasons why you must utilize daylight to the fullest. It’s a free source of energy and can save you quite a sum on your power bills. But that’s not why you should pull your curtains apart first thing in the morning.
Melatonin is the hormone that induces sleep, and it becomes dormant with sunlight hits your body. This is precisely why a morning walk or having your breakfast by a sunny window is recommended. It allows your body to wake up properly and eliminate any causes of slumber or drowsiness.
When you wake up in the morning, before you start hating on your alarm clock, try opening the windows and letting some sunlight in. It will not only make your waking up easier but will give you a fresh start. And a fresh start to a day goes a long way.
Avoid Too Much Caffeine
The coffee machine is a gas station at the office. Anyone who feels a little low instantly charges up after having a cup of coffee. And it’s true how coffee gives you that jolt of energy. But it also leaves you even more depleted once the effects start to wear off.
And that compels you to consume more and more. That’s how it becomes an addiction. At the same time, I don’t advise against coffee entirely, as it can be a fantastic start to a day. I recommend keeping your coffee intake to just the cup you have for breakfast.
Because consuming coffee after 12 may cause you trouble sleeping at night because that’s how long the effects last. And secondly, it causes stress and headaches that can be another pain of its own. Consuming only one cup per day will keep your tolerance low. So, when you feel drained out, a timely coffee will work even better at reviving you. Save it for the hard times!
Easy Up On The Booze
There are a plethora of urban myths supporting how whiskey puts you to sleep better. There may be some truth to it, but not without a cost you have to pay the next day. You’ll cure the headache with aspirin, but it will drain you of your energy the next day for sure.
Alcohol dehydrates your body, which is why you feel nauseous and drained out the day after. However, that’s not it! A big reason why you may be feeling too tired in the evening is that you may have had a drink in the afternoon to calm your nerves.
Saving the drinking for weekends doesn’t get any better. But letting them crawl into your daily life is eventually going to get you to a hard spot. So, go easy on the booze!
Avoid Smoking
It would be best if you quit smoking even without your energy concern. It does more harm than good. But getting the reason, is cigarettes have nicotine, and that is a stimulant. No wonder you feel a sudden calmness and control when you hit that first puff.
But more than the health risks, it causes you to crash on energy way more frequently than you usually would. A frequent smoker may get used to the regular dosage of fuel and sleep just in time for the next one. Smoking is why you lose your concentration and panic much more when it’s time for a smoke, and you can’t get to it.
Take Supplements
Talking about energy, how was I ever going to skip out on supplements? Yes, there is a widespread rumor about how supplements affect your liver, but it is misplaced. It is steroids and other unnatural ways of boosting your energy that affects your health.
Supplements like whey protein, Red Bali Kratom, multivitamins, fish oil, and magnesium supplements help you reach the nutritional requirements of your day. If you are regular at exercising and working out, you cannot get all the energy and protein you need from your diet.
You are bound to switch over to supplements. And supplements give you readily available energy that you can use in day-to-day tasks. Supplements not only make everything you do much more comfortable, but it makes it more fun as well now that you can concentrate.
Plan Your Snacks
Planning your snacks is also the right way of keeping your energy levels high. As crucial as three meals are in a day, they are rarely enough to meet your energy requirements. Whether it is physical work that you do or mental, you use up energy.
Going for a bag of chips is undoubtedly convenient, but the energy is going to wear off much soon. Plus, it has a bunch of other compounds that promote stress.
Instead, you can start having nuts or a bit of yellow Sumatra kratom as snacks. Even a small quantity of these will have you revived and give you a sustained flow of energy. And this helps you stay alert and more focused.
Exercise
To finish it off, include exercise or any amount of physical activity in your day. It is counter-argumentative to get up and move when you don’t have energy. But, it does work that way.
When you’re out of energy, instead of hitting the couch, try going for a short run or brisk walking. Walking will surely lighten your mood as exercises release the happiness hormones in your brain.
Plus, it also tricks your body to build up stamina, so you always have reserve energy left. And then, you won’t face the risk of running out of gas in the middle of the day.
The best way to exercise is to go outdoors. Exercise allows you to get as much daylight as you can and have fresh air to breathe. With oxygen-rich blood circulating your body at a fast rate, you’ll feel much more active and energetic.
