Nicknamed "Frank’s Little Party In The Desert" since 1988, this tournament has grown into a legendary weekend of golf and parties supported by athletes, celebrities, entertainers and friends of the tournament past. The tournament takes place on Friday and Saturday on the superb Eagle Falls Golf Course at Fantasy Springs Resort in Palm Springs. The 6,700-yard, par-72 course is a stern test for the low handicap player and a fair test for the higher one. The format is a five-player team gross and net scramble, with teams consisting of four amateur players that play with a different celebrity each day.

From the beginning, the event has been one of the desert’s spots to see and be seen. There are many ways to be part of the fun weekend, including free admission to see the action up close as part of the gallery. Bring your camera, as the celebrities are always considerate of those wanting that special photo. There are also luncheons and fashions shows.

Tickets and party packages are available from the tournament office. It has a limited field, but the tournament is open to all who wish to join, either as a golf participant or for just a single day of fun. The proceeds generated from the event each year go to support the Barbara Sinatra Children’s Center at Eisenhower Medical Center in Rancho Mirage, Calif. More than 18,000 children have been helped since the Barbara Sinatra Center for Abused Children opened its doors in 1986. Barbara Sinatra is quick to acknowledge supporters and tournament participants who make it possible for the center to keep doing its critical work.

"The children who come to us for help continue to receive the therapy they need and deserve, and no child is ever turned away due to a family’s inability to pay," she explained.

This event helps make that possible. Put it on your calendar, whether this year or next. It’s sure to be a good little party out in the desert.

Tickets and party packages are available from the tournament office: franksinatragolf.org or 760-674-8447.
