Budget Blinds and Design Spaces Give Back to the Community

The home of a two-time Purple Heart Air Force Veteran and his family is getting window coverings for a Designing Spaces series that is airing on Lifetime television. Budget Blinds is teaming up with Design Spaces Military Makeover to renovate their home and show their appreciation for the time and commitment he and his family provided to our military.

Budget Blinds is the largest window covering franchise in North America and participated in a makeover special that surprised an injured Air Force veteran and his family with a newly renovated home that is better suited to the needs of the him and his growing family.

The show works to find deserving military veterans in need of home renovations in order to give back to those who have given so much to our country. They found Technical Sergeant Kevin Parke in Crestview, Florida. An Explosive Ordinance Disposal technician, who is currently assigned to Eglin Air Force Base. He served two deployments in Afghanistan where he survived three separate IED detonations. Despite sustaining injuries, he stayed with his team each time. His bravery and accomplishments have earned him countless medals and awards, including two Purple Hearts for his injuries. The home's completed renovations were unveiled to the Parke family in a private ceremony on October 29, 2015.

For the renovation, Military Makeover collaborated with several partners, one of them is Budget Blinds, who along with their valued manufacturing partner, Custom Brands Group, provided energy-efficient, child-safe window coverings throughout the Parke’s home.

"We were thrilled to hear Budget Blinds was participating in Military Makeover on many levels" said Adam Berryman and Lloyd Biggs, Owners of Budget Blinds serving North County Coastal San Diego.
