Rolling out the red carpet for their annual black-tie event, The Jewels of San Diego is excited to host "All That Jazz"—a gala to benefit The Arc of San Diego. On May 31, guests will arrive at the US Grant Hotel for a beautiful cocktail reception, delicious cuisine, live entertainment and dancing well into the night.
In 2010, Phyllis and John Parrish brought their passion for charity to fruition by establishing The Jewels of San Diego and developing a strong relationship with The Arc of San Diego, an organization known for its outstanding contributions to people with disabilities. Honorary Jewels chairs—including the Parrishes, Jeanne Jones and Don Breitenberg, Marilyn and Kim Fletcher, Joye Blount and Jessie J. Knight, Jr., Lee and Frank Goldberg, Sandy Redman and Jeff Mueller, Denise and Bertrand Hug, Sally B. and John M. Thornton, Hon. Pam Slater-Price and Herschel Price, Emma and Leo Zuckerman, and Ramin Pourteymour—support their shared philanthropic mission by supporting this event. Celebrating its fourth year, the gala has been acknowledged as one of the best parties of the season, honoring individuals who support the community, as well as raising awareness and money for those most in need.

The smooth sounds of jazz will fill the Presidential Ballroom with music and entertainment performed by Wayne Foster Music & Entertainment. The evening’s performances will continue with a jazz era dance performance by dancers from Mary Murphy’s Champion Ballroom Academy. Throughout the night, guests will also enjoy live and silent auctions of fabulous items sold to benefit The Arc of San Diego’s essential life services.
The Arc of San Diego currently serves more than 2,500 children and adults with disabilities, and depends on the spirit, passion and generosity of the philanthropic community. The Arc is one of the largest and most respected organizations in San Diego, serving people with disabilities including mental retardation, autism, cerebral palsy and Down syndrome.
The Arc of San Diego boasted an amazing 300 person guest list last year, with predictions of an equally successful event this year. Tickets to this one-of-a-kind evening can be purchased for $200, with proceeds benefiting The Arc of San Diego. Preferred and group seating is also available. For more information or to purchase tickets, contact Jennifer Bates Navarra at 619-685-1175, ext. 291 or email her at jnavarra@arc-sd.com.
