The majority of us don’t wake up in the summer with perfect soft waves and sun-kissed color. If you do, I’m envious!
Instead, chlorine-colored, faded, dry hair tends to be the persistent problem we are faced with.
But there is a solution to every hair dilemma. Here are some summer hair tips from FINE –
Problem: green hair from swimming in pools –

Coating your hair with oil prior to swimming will help to protect your hair. The only bummer about it is that it will leave a trail of oil in your pool. As a blondie myself, I usually apply coconut oil. It provides the best protection while leaving the least residue in the pool.
Or, for those who didn’t protect their hair prior to swimming, coconut oil is also great for getting the green out! By applying coconut oil in your locks, and then sitting in a steam room or in the sun, the green color will loosen up, and the oil allows it to skim off.
Sunday Shampoo from Bumble and Bumble can also be used to remove the green color. It is a stripping shampoo, made to remove buildup, getting rid of chlorine in the process.
Problem: color fading from the sun –

Mother Nature is a fabulous hair colorist and is able to give you lovely highlights free of charge. I seriously believe that color fading from the sun gives hair a color that is super pretty (you might actually like it!), and not able to be reproduced in the salon.
But if you don’t want to give up your color to sun fading, then without a doubt you should use color-protecting shampoos and conditioners.
Problem: Dehydrated Beach Hair –

For us San Diegans, it is always smart to have a deep conditioner handy. You need one that is ultra-hydrating and slippery so that it is able to remove all the salt residue from the beach and give hair a soft sheen. If you swim in the ocean every day, use the conditioner every day. The more you are able to use it, the more radiance it can bring back.
Problem: Greasy Scalp Issues
Solution: Use Dry Shampoo Like Gwyneth Paltrow Does.
