6 Wardrobe Pieces That Never Go Out of Style

While we all love updating our wardrobe with trendy pieces and feeling like we're dressing in the moment's trends, it's also important to curate a wardrobe with details that will never go out of style. Having these timeless pieces for your closet – whether they're dresses or gowns, pearls or diamonds, mules or loafers – are things we all should own. When making a sartorial statement, you want to stand out from the crowd looking on-trend but classic simultaneously. Let us go ahead and look at some wardrobe pieces we should invest in so we have the right "go-to's" to elevate our outfits.

Signature Jewelry

When you look back on your childhood and reflect upon fond memories of your grandparents or parents, you likely often remember a watch they wore every day, or maybe it was a necklace. One thing everyone needs is their signature jewelry. You don't have to be limited to one piece either. Perhaps you wear the same beaded necklace and gold huggie earrings each day. Maybe you have a cocktail ring that's been passed down a few generations. We all need to have the signature jewelry we're known for - if you don't have a piece yet, consider investing in one soon.

Your Version of the LBD

Ah, yes, the LBD - or Little Black Dress if you're not into acronyms. We all need our version of this iconic wardrobe staple. If you're not into dresses, your version could be some black slacks tailored perfectly for you and a chic blouse. Maybe your LBD is a sequined jumpsuit. Everyone needs an outfit that they feel not only comfortable but confident in and that can work for any foreseeable event they need to attend. There are no rules when it comes to fashion - you may feel just fine wearing that sequined jumpsuit to a funeral, even. And frankly, the deceased would've probably loved it! Having one or two go-to looks is crucial for anyone serious about their wardrobe.

Luxury Handbag

Let's face it; there is something about feeling so mature when you finally obtain your dream bag. While money isn't everything in this world, investing in a bag that others will stop and compliment is worth it for several reasons. One, you typically get what you pay for in this life, so investing in a bag that will last your entire life, or at least decades, is worth it. Secondly, lux handbags are more versatile than their cheaper counterparts. Who needs twenty low-cost bags to pair with different outfits after you've invested in one high-end bag that works with everything? And, lastly, you can't put a price on self-confidence. You work hard, so treat yourself, especially if it makes you feel good.

The Perfect Jeans

Finding the perfect pair of denim jeans can be tricky, but when you zero in on your brand and the flattering fit, you must - invest! While there are jeans available at virtually any store, finding a pair that looks amazing on you and doesn't lose its form throughout the day is likely going to cost you. While spending several hundred dollars on jeans may seem like a splurge, they'll last you for the rest of your life with a few repairs along the way.

When you find jeans you look and feel good in, buy a couple of pairs and stop shopping for any more. Though the debate is still out on skinny jeans' staying power, it seems even they can't be dethroned. The truth is, in today's fashion world, no cut or color is off-limits. So, don't feel like you have to wear a particular style of denim. Go with the most flattering ones to your figure and make you feel good. Because as we all know, the most stylish thing you can possess is self-confidence.

Year-Round Jacket

You can go in several directions depending on your taste and aesthetic. But everyone needs a jacket they can throw on in a pinch as they're running out the door. Most fashion-minded people either own a solid jean jacket (the more vintage, the better) or a leather jacket. When it comes to black or mono-toned genuine leather jackets, motorcycle or bomber styles are the most flattering on anyone's body type. Let's face it; everyone looks instantly cooler in a jacket that's been worn for years, no matter the fit or fabrication. Pieces like this ultimately become heirlooms because they're what friends and family remember seeing you wearing, no matter the reason or the season you can look sharp.

Tailored Tees

While the headline may be misleading - you don't need to go out and have your t-shirts tailored to your form, but you do need some that fit you to perfection. Finding a brand or designer that makes you look and feel amazing are the ones you should invest in. Knowing what works for your body type and style will keep you from impulse buying tees that don't flatter you and end up never being worn. Think about how many famous fashion designers you see wear the uniform of a crisp tee (typically black or white) and a great pair of denim. They didn't spend hours that day getting ready, but somehow they managed to look more sartorial than everyone else around them.

Crisp tees also serve as a fantastic basis for the rest of your wardrobe - while you don't have to be a minimalist and only wear tees and jeans for the rest of your days, having an easy go-to look that you know fits and flatters you is priceless when it comes to your wardrobe. Throw on a gold chain or a pair of oversized sunnies with the right t-shirt, and you've got a timeless and chic look.

These staples make a great starting point to build off when curating your wardrobe. Maybe you're into capsule wardrobes and won't need much more than those mentioned above. Start investing today in pieces that will last a lifetime and be in vogue for your lifetime. Cheers!
