If you’re looking for a durable, long-lasting, and stunning countertop for your home, consider getting quartz countertops. Fabricated from one of the hardest minerals on the planet, these kitchen countertops are designed to last a lifetime. Your house could be torn down and renovated multiple times, and these could just remain intact even after decades. Quartz countertop colors and designs also give your kitchen a unique, one-of-a-kind look that can reflect the homeowner’s personality. There’s a large variety of interior design styles, and there are countertop colors to match them. During fabrication, glass or metallic flecks can be added to quartz, creating a look that you won’t find anywhere else. Thus, choosing quartz countertops colors for kitchens is something that you need to prepare for.

Quartz Countertop Colors: How Are They Made?

Quartz countertops are fabricated from natural quartz, resins, and pigments. Around 90% of natural quartz is blended with colorfast pigments and advanced polymer resins creating a strong, durable work surface with an elegant appearance that can be custom-made for artistic quality.

Most quartz countertops reuse small pieces of broken quartz, granite, colored glass, and mirrored particles to give them a look that’s unique for every piece. This mixture of various materials is all held together by resin, and shaped into large blocks using molds. The colorfast pigment is added to impart quartz countertop color options. Air is pressed out to avoid any cavities that could affect its structural integrity. This is done using vacuums and vibration helps the resin set properly.

Once this is done, the quartz blocks are "baked" using heat and pressure. This special process hardens the resin, strengthening it to make sure that the end product is long-lasting. It is then sliced into slabs, and with a thickness comparable to an actual countertop. The slabs are then polished on one face only and is then prepared for shipment to a stone fabricator. The stone fabricator finished these slabs with any countertop edge, depending on the preference of customers or the demand from the distributor. Normally, quartz countertops come in a polished finish. However, you can also request if you want a honed finish or a leathered finish for some quartz countertop color choices.

Ooh! Caesarstone, I have them too! I got the Ice Snow too. It's really gorgeous plus it makes my kitchen look bigger and makes all the colors go together. I have some grays and wood colors so white really goes well with them. Montblanc looks good too! Maybe I'll put them in my bathrooms next!
