2nd Annual Hearts Hats and Heels Charity Event

In the spirit of Valentine’s Day KIDS KORPS USA and FINE magazine celebrated the Biggest Little Hearts in San Diego by partnering on the second annual HEARTS, HATS & HEELS fashion show lunch, and vendor boutique on February 13. The event was held at the historic Rancho Santa Fe Golf Club and featured a cutting edge fashion show and local boutiques with trending products get the opportunity to show off their latest inventory. 

FINE magazine chose Kids Korps USA as the beneficiary of the event, which was founded in 1995 and engages young people, ages 5 through 25, in community service across 65 chapters in the San Diego region. As shared by Dyess Verfuth, a Kids Korps USA member and senior at Westview High School in Rancho Bernardo, Kids Korps is about leadership – and instilling the passion and spirit of giving by community service and provides life-changing opportunities in volunteerism and civic involvement. Dyess, who is headed to her first year in college at Emory University was the winner of the Biggest Little Hearts Essay Contest and was presented with an award and funding for her school chapter’s next volunteer project.

Kids Korps partners with over 350 community-based organizations to meet these agencies volunteer needs and service goals. This is done primarily by forming chapters in local schools, connecting volunteers with an extensive on-line project calendar listing more than 1,200 community projects annually.

Vendors at the event included Skin Authority, TRE Boutique, Maggie B’s and Mister B’s, V’s Barber Shop, Pastiche Custom Fragrances, Pink Lagoon, WineSeller & Brasserie among others who generously donated proceeds of event sales to support Kids Korps to grow social communities and chapters across the region to allow youth to volunteer where they live—serving those issues for which they have a passion.
