Delicious Ginger Cookies

Who doesn't love ginger cookies? This holiday season, enjoy a festive treat with a bit of a kick! Serve two ginger cookies together with a dollop of ice cream in between for a decadent dessert sure to please even the pickiest of relatives. Enjoy our easy-to-follow recipe down below.

Yields 2 dozen

2 1/2 cups flour

1/2 tsp baking soda

1/4 tsp salt

3 tsp ground ginger

1/2 tsp allspice

1/2 tsp cinnamon

1/2 tsp ground black pepper

1 1/4 cups dark brown sugar, firmly packed

3/4 cup salted butter, softened

1 large egg

1/3 cup molasses

Small cup of white sugar

Preheat oven to 300˚ F.

Combine flour, baking soda, salt, ginger, allspice, cinnamon, and black pepper. Mix well and set aside.

In a large bowl, mix dark brown sugar and softened butter. Add egg and molasses; beat at a medium speed until light and fluffy. Combine with the flour mixture until just combined. Cover dough and chill in the refrigerator for 1 hour.

Roll dough into small balls, approximately 1 inch in diameter. Lightly roll the balls in the white sugar; place onto an ungreased cookie sheet. Bake for 20–24 minutes on a high oven rack.
