The year 2020 is undoubtedly unforgettable. So many changes have been happening, and all of this because of the onset of COVID-19. It has indeed been a trying and challenging year for everyone, and businesses, in particular, have had to take quite a hit. Many companies have been successful in adapting to the changes, and it only makes sense that over time, there will have to be some significant changes made in the workplace. If employees are coming back to the office, they must have specific protective gear on hand to guarantee that you are taking all the safety precautions required. This is why we've created a simple list that clarifies what Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) they need to have.
Face Masks
First, foremost, and most importantly is the face mask. This cannot be emphasized enough when it comes to employees entering the workspace. This is imperative to ensure that no one is exposed to any possible contamination through breathing and not exposing anyone else to anything in case you might be unwell but unaware of it. There are a variety of masks available, from disposable to non-disposable. Make sure to advise your employees on what kinds of shoes to wear, and always have extra available if anyone needs them for any reason.
Gloves
Even though many people might be on the fence on whether they need to wear gloves or not, they must do so at the workplace. Ensure that they put them on upon entering the office, and remove and dispose of them in a designated bin as they leave. You would want to advise your employees to shop nitrile gloves because they offer the best protection. This is because they've been found to protect against bacteria, which is precisely what you need given the world's current situation.
Eye Protection
We often forget the importance of protecting our eyes as well when in public. If you plan to bring your employees back to the office, you need to remind them that they have to have their eyes protected as well, as this is exposure. They can either use googles or get a face shield, a protective layer of plastic that covers the whole face.
Sanitized Personal Equipment
Everyone must have their equipment and stationery when the employees come back to the office. They remember not to share or use anyone else's equipment to lower the risk of infection. It's also essential to always have a sanitizer handy to sterilize anything they use.
We live in strange and challenging times, but the best thing about human nature is that we're able to adapt to any condition if we're faced with difficulty. Bringing employees back to the workplace may have been questionable at times. Still, suppose you take the necessary precautions and ensure that you have proper rules set in place, ensuring that no one enters the workplace without the required protective gear. In that case, you will be running a healthy and safe working environment.
