Holiday shopping season is upon us. While UTC Westfield Mall has nailed the restaurant game, Fashion Valley Mall is quickly catching up with dining options to keep you fueled while you shop. Here are my top four picks to keep you feeling jolly at the mall this winter:
1. North Italia
The most recent addition to Fashion Valley’s dining scene, North Italia has set a new high standard for the mall. Start with the Burrata with date conserva, roasted pistachio and crispy pancetta on grilled bread. Do not leave without ordering a Julietta, my current cocktail obsession, bringing together ginger infused vodka with vanilla, fiorente elderflower, lime, and prosecco.
2. True Food Kitchen
If you’re kicking off your New Year resolutions early, you’ll have nothing but healthy options at True Food Kitchen, while not sacrificing taste. Founded by a doctor of integrative medicine and perfected by talented chefs, their seasonal menu has plenty for every diet – vegan, gluten-free, you name it!
3. Pressed Juicery
To replenish your nutrients and get an energy boost without sitting down to a meal, swing by Pressed Juicery for a cold-pressed bottle of fruits, veggies, and proteins. Try the inflammation-fighting Turmeric Almond with dates, vanilla, cinnamon, black pepper, and sea salt.
4. Blanco
Craving nachos? Blanco has the best in San Diego. The secret is double cheese. Chips are layered with black beans, guacamole, sour cream, pico de gallo, and shredded cheese, then finished tableside with a pour over of queso. Every bite is delicious and drool-worthy.
