On-Trend Shorts & Skirts for Summer

Summer is heating up, and it looks like this season is going to be one for the books. Between the Del Mar Racetrack and the beach, keeping covered is paramount with the strong rays and sun overhead. Stripes

Stripes are everywhere this summer and for good reason. They are classic and playful as well as timeless. If you're wearing this style, opt for a vertical stripe for an elongating effect. Try pairing your stripes with a different print for a statement look.

Wrap Styles and Ruched Waistbands

Irregular waistbands are in their prime at the moment, and there are plenty of options to choose from. Midi skirts and maxi skirts are specifically abundant in the apparel marketplace with various waistband twists like wrap styles and ruching.

A little bit of texture is always welcome to step up a look. An eyelet paired with light cotton leads in popularity this summer. These skirts scream summer and can easily be worn with a pop of color or monochrome for a clean, minimalist look.

Thigh-High Slits:

The sultry thigh-high slit now works for every day. This style might seem intimidating, but even a subtle amount of skin showing can be appropriate for formal attire or days at the office. Having that nice little peek of leg is chic and adds some contrast to an average maxi dress.

Last, but definitely not least, the effortless but polished look will always be in. This summer in particular, designers have come out with styles you can take from work to happy hour. A sophisticated style of shorts paired with an unexpected print or pleat feels fresh and updated.
