A 2-Day 1-Night Yas Theme Parks Itinerary

You’re desperate for a break, you have a weekend free, and you’re deciding where to spend it. Here’s a brilliant idea: How about a short theme park sojourn in Yas Island, Abu Dhabi?

Day 1

Here’s a suggested day-1 itinerary you can follow.

Departure for Yas Island, Abu Dhabi

Drive to Abu Dhabi. You can also ride the Yas Express, a Yas Island shuttle bus service with daily trips from and back to Dubai. You can avail yourself of the free bus service as long as you have an e-ticket to any Yas theme park.

There are nine routes from Dubai to Yas Island. The earliest trip departs at 9:20 a.m. from Rixos Jumeirah Beach Resort and The H Dubai. Every route picks up passengers from multiple places. Yas Express also has routes to and from Sharjah, Ajman, and Ras Al Khaimah.

Lunch

You can proceed to Yas Mall. That’s a good place for lunch, especially The Fountains, located between Yas Mall and Ferrari World Yas Island, Abu Dhabi, which has an abundance of restaurants. No worries if your Yas Express shuttle bus won’t be stopping at Yas Mall; you can catch one of the shuttle buses that ply the Island.

Check-in

Proceed to your homestay accommodation to check in. Freshen up, leave your things, and proceed to your first attraction: Ferrari World Yas Island, Abu Dhabi.

Spend the rest of the day enjoying thrilling rides at Ferrari World Abu Dhabi. The theme park may be open until 8:00 p.m. However, operating hours vary by season and may change without prior notice, so be sure to check before booking your tickets.

What are the must-try rides and attractions in Ferrari World? Ferrari World specializes in roller coasters.

• Formula Rossa: It’s one of the fastest roller coasters in the world. For that alone, it’s worth ticking off your theme park rides bucket list.
• Turbo Track: This vertical roller coaster will launch you up a track at the centre of the theme park. The ride is short, but it’s thrillingly sweet, and it delivers a spectacular zero-gravity fall.
• Flying Aces: Sit on an outside seat and let your feet hang down as the roller coaster turns and twists and follows a 51-degree incline and takes you on the highest non-inverted loop in the world.
• Fiorano GT Challenge: Two twisting parallel tracks let you pretend you’re competing with your friends in an actual GT race.

Day 2

Here’s a good plan for day 2.

SeaWorld™ Yas Island, Abu Dhabi

Get breakfast and an early start. Check out of your accommodation. If you have sizeable luggage, drop by Bounce Yas Island for storage so you can enjoy your second day’s activities unencumbered.

Be at SeaWorld Yas Island, Abu Dhabi, before the park opens at 10 a.m. Once in, explore the theme park (the largest marine life indoor theme park in the world), and consider going on the following:

• Manta Coaster: You must ride this one, especially if you love roller coasters. This delivers 17 air- and hang-time moments, plus a zero-gravity flip.
• Hypersphere 360°: This immersive multimedia sphere takes you on a journey to discover the wonders of the ocean.
• Eel Racer: Get on this exciting giant eel ride for a chance to enjoy fabulous views of the MicroOcean and take in the vivid colours of the setting.

Yas Waterworld Yas Island, Abu Dhabi

After a fun time at SeaWorld Abu Dhabi, cross Yas Mall (you can have a quick lunch here) and proceed to Yas Waterworld Yas Island, Abu Dhabi. Once in, proceed to the park’s most popular slides and attractions, especially this trio of body-speed slides:

• Jebel Drop: Ascend 10 stories high to the platform and propel yourself down one of the steepest water slide rides in Abu Dhabi.
• Hamlool’s Humps: This slide has two humps to lift you and send you airborne (at least for a time).
• Liwa Loop: Once the floor hatch opens, rush down into a looping (thankfully closed-chute) water slide.

Other rides to try are Dawwama, the largest six-person tornado water coaster in the world, and Bubble’s Barrel, a surfing attraction that delivers the largest sheet waves in the region.

Departure

Leave Yas Waterworld (it typically closes at 7:00 p.m.), retrieve your luggage from Bounce, and depart for home.

If you’re taking the Yas Express back, pick-up times range between 7:30 and 8:00 p.m. Yas Mall, Yas Waterworld, and Warner Bros. World™ Yas Island, Abu Dhabi are a few of the pick-up points. Remember, there will be nine buses and nine routes to Dubai, so be sure to check the bus routes and timings before boarding.
