The innovative auto and motorcycle company is ready to roll out its new personal/business jet that is designed to not only go faster, farther and be more efficient than conventional private jets, but is an eye–catching standout on the tarmac, as well.

The new HondaJet, which has actually been in development since the early 1980s but only this year became FAA certified for production, will feature the unique design of having its two engines sitting over the wings rather than under or on the tail as is typically found on small jets.
The HondaJet also features a sleek composite fuselage that provides extra space in the cabin, allowing the HondaJet to carry seven passengers and includes an enclosed lavatory. The over–the–wing engine mount design, natural laminar flow wing and fuselage nose combine to make the HondaJet the fastest, most spacious and most fuel–efficient jet in its class.

"Our goal with the HondaJet was to create a Honda-original airplane that would bring new value to customers through new and advanced technologies," Michimasa Fujino, president and CEO of Honda Aircraft Company President, told Popular Science Magazine earlier this year after the magazine named the HondaJet as the "Best of What’s New" in aerospace for 2014.
The HondaJet is fastest in its class at a maximum cruise speed of 483 mph, soars highest in its class with a maximum altitude of 43,000 feet and is the most fuel–efficient light jet in its class by up to 17 percent.
Standard seating configuration for the HondaJet is for four passengers plus two crew, with an optional fifth seat available, and the cabin features a galley and private bathroom. The factory assembly line in Greensboro, North Carolina is at full capacity with 12 of the $4.5 million jets in various stages of completion.
