5 Things Men Should Know About Buying Lingerie

Valentine's Day Lingerie

Shhh! Looking to get your lovely lady some new lingerie? For our men out there, this is for you! Valentine's Day is right around the corner, and if you're thinking about buying your bae something sexy for the red-hot holiday, stop! Thanks to owner Sheree Clock of Jolie Femme Deux, we have top tips for buying lingerie. Don't buy anything without considering these five, important things...

1. Know your lady's sizes. It's easy to sneak into her dresser drawer and read the little tag on the back of her bra and panties. If you know those numbers, the rest is easy! If you have to guess, go one size smaller––she'd rather exchange the pair than feel bad about you overestimating her size.

2. Choose something she wants. It sounds basic, but hear me out––if she's unhappy with any part of her anatomy, choose something that camouflages it. For example, a chemise or a gown is perfect for someone insecure about their thighs.

3. "Sexy" is an idea; know her definition. You might want to buy your woman a lacy garter belt with thigh-high tights, but a deliciously draping silk gown is her definition. Don't guess about what your lover likes. Ask subtle questions and be sure.

4. Find out if she has allergies. Did you know some companies still use formaldehyde in their fabrics? If she can only wear 100% cotton, for example, there are many lovely choices for her. Check and make sure there are no fabrics that give her hives––that's the wrong kind of red, this Valentine's Day!

5. Look at the colors she wears in clothing every day. Most women have learned what looks best with their skin tone, eyes, and hair color. Compliment her by buying shades you've noticed she wears a lot.

Follow these 5 tips from Jolie Femme Deux owner Sheree Clock, and you'll guarantee and sweet Valentine's Day.
