The Law and Mediation Firm of Klueck & Hoppes (K&H) won the 2017 FINE Magazine Readers' Best Overall Law Firm in San Diego County (repeating a 2016 win). Readers know K&H is an outstanding law firm with many value-added benefits.
Value-added size–With 14 attorneys currently associated with the Klueck & Hoppes (K&H) firm the firm is one of the largest family law firms in San Diego County. As a result, if a client needs the service of a veteran woman attorney, they can be accommodated as can the client who wants a young man to fight for their rights. Unlike many other smaller firms, K&H has the resources to match each client’s personal preference with skilled and qualified attorneys.
Value-added legal experience–The 14 attorneys and nine paralegals of K&H have hundreds of hours of courtroom and other legal experience.
Value-added variety of representation—K&H attorneys represent clients in both high-end and more moderate-income divorces, as well as in child custody disputes, alimony and child support and visitation disputes––often long after the divorce––adoptions, guardianships, prenuptial agreements, marital settlement agreements, and others. Where appropriate, K&H also offers "limited scope" representation as well.
Value-added variety of outside experience— Besides their legal experience, two K&H attorneys have Masters Degrees in Counseling Psychology, and the Firm Administrator has a PhD in Psychology. All three have provided hundreds of hours of psychotherapy to their clients. This psychological background enriches what K&H offers, particularly in the sensitive area of child custody. Additionally, a K&H attorney has formerly served as a realtor and real estate broker, which proves helpful to clients who have real estate disputes in their family law cases.
Value-added variety of languages spoken—Besides English, K&H has attorneys who are fluent in Spanish, German, Arabic, Aramaic and Hebrew.

Klueck and Hoppes
Value-added convenience in servicing clients—All potential clients are provided a free consultation. At that consultation, clients are empowered with a large amount of information about family law in the form of handouts they can take with them. Clients will be provided with multiple options as to retaining the firm and paying for legal services.
Value-added matching the client’s needs—Family law clients and cases are not one-size-fits-all. When the situation demands aggressive legal tactics, K&H becomes your warriors in court. Other situations require openness to settlement, and K&H lawyers attempt to find creative solutions that protect the clients’ rights. Some clients seek an amicable divorce; the firm attempts to help the client re-form their family in a sensitive matter so the client can healthfully move forward with the rest of their life.
Value-added variety of alternative legal methods—In addition to their expertise in the courtroom, K&H attorneys are thoroughly trained and experienced in all of the out-of-court, alternative methods of dispute resolution. These include collaborative divorce, cooperative divorce and mediation. Founding and managing partner Garrison Klueck is a fully-credentialed mediator through the National Conflict Resolution Center (NCRC).
Value-added awards and recognition—K&H is among the most honored family law firms in Southern California. Besides winning the FINE Magazine Readers’ vote in 2016 and 2017, K&H have repeatedly been named "Best of the Bar" in the San Diego Business Journal. The San Diego Daily Transcript ranked K&H attorneys as Top Attorneys five times. Seven times K&H lawyers have been named Super Lawyers or Rising Stars. The AVVO website ranks attorney Klueck 10 out of a possible 10.

Bud Klueck and Hoppes
About Garrison "Bud" Klueck
Garrison "Bud" Klueck is honored to be voted the Best Family Lawyer in the FINE Magazine Readers’ poll. This is a special year for Bud; he was sworn in as a member of the California State Bar attorney on 6/17/87 and 6/17/17 was his 30 anniversary as an attorney.
In speaking with Bud Klueck, he told us, "Our law and mediation firm––Klueck & Hoppes––is now one of the largest family law firms in San Diego County, but it was not always that way. When I opened my office in 1990, it was just me and a computer."
Bud acknowledges there are stresses involved with managing a large law firm. However, there are great personal satisfactions as well. One such satisfaction is developing a vision and having that vision be infused into a large organization. For Bud, that vision is providing quality legal services to a diverse clientele, something all of his top attorneys must understand. Bud says, "One of the first acts of any new person at our law firm is to read our mission statement. Everybody has to buy into the mission."
Throughout his career, Bud has a history of adding on to his professional capabilities and credentials. For example, in 2013, he earned a Masters in Psychology. "Nowadays, that psychological background informs almost everything that I do as an attorney and a mediator," Bud explains.
Bud is also an adjunct professor at three law schools. He received a mediator credential as the result of a more-than-one-year program of study and practice at the National Conflict Resolution Center (NCRC). In 2016, Bud was elected the National Ombudsman for American Mensa. In addition, Bud was recently elected to serve a three-year term as a Director of the San Diego County Bar Association.
Bud says, "Being a true professional requires constant growth. It’s like what scientists say about sharks. Like sharks, professionals have to keep moving forward, or they will die."
