Why Autumn doesn’t have to be a bad thing

Temperatures are dropping, the days are drawing in quicker, and the leaves are starting to change color – autumn is fast approaching. While many of us much prefer the warmer sunny days, adventures to the seaside, and light evenings during summertime, autumn doesn’t have to be a time to dread.

There are so many positives that come with this time of year, so to give you something to look forward to next season, here are some things you can begin to get excited about:

Long walks

There is nothing quite like seeking out your favorite knitted jumper, woolly hat, cozy socks, and sturdy boots and going on a long walk in the crisp air with loved ones. Throughout autumn, it’s still warm enough for strolls through the park or hour-long dog walks in the forest, and the best part is that you can start to witness the leaves changing to a golden brown.

Comfort food

From delicious stews to pies packed full of flavor, autumn is the time to eat all the comfort food. Get creative in your kitchen this year and try your hand at a few new recipes. Once you’ve indulged in some of your favorite flavorful dishes, you can head out on that long walk!

Getting cosy for the night

Hygge: a feeling of cozy contentment and well-being through enjoying the simple things in life. This Danish lifestyle trend is something we can all get on board with, especially during the cooler months. There is no better time to pull on your pajamas, slippers, and dressing gown than throughout autumn, so get ready to snuggle in, turn on Netflix, and enjoy some seriously cozy evenings.

Halloween

Carving pumpkins and trick-or-treating are two more things to look forward to come October. Halloween is a fantastic holiday, particularly when you have children, as you can make memories of decorating your home and getting ready for the excitable knocks on the door. Plus, with pumpkins being back on the shelves, you’ll be able to get your hands on a pumpkin-spiced latte again!

Bonfire night

Fairground rides, fireworks, and all the toffee apples and candy floss you can eat – it’ll soon be time to head out for bonfire night. Wrap up warm, ensure your gloves are in your pocket, and get ready to see the sky light up as you hear lots of ‘oohs’ and ‘aahs’.

Autumn is a beautiful season, and now that you have been reminded of all that it brings, you can start to look forward to it properly.
