Located in the basement on the corner of 5^th and E, in the Gaslamp Quarter, Vin de Syrah takes a trip to a storybook wonderland. The secret, secret garden entry door is just the beginning to the genius and creative interior design filled with layers of color and texture. Hanging Victorian parasols, silk boxwood lined walls and glass goblet pendant candle holders are just a few of the originally designed details that have you looking for more. Vin de Syrah artistically combines a vivid color pallet with rustic wood paneling and mirrored columns. On G Street and 9th Avenue in the East Village, Café Chloe brings a little Paris to San Diego. With its rich worn wood floors, dark stained woodwork and clean contrasted counter and bistro table tops, this quaint and beautifully designed café is one beret away from a perfect Parisian design experience. Sit outside on a true bistro styled chair among the cast metal patina urns filled with green shrubs and flowers. Inside the white walls and high gloss crown and base boards allow the afternoon light to accent the black and white portrait photography and daily offerings on the chalk board menu. Where city-chic meets the farm; Cucina Urbana creates a hip and stylish restaurant for all to enjoy. From the rustic turned leg dining tables to the burlap backed dining chairs; the creative use of materials proves that great design starts with a good, if not brilliant design concept. Reclaimed wood paneling throughout the columns and walls, and polished concrete floors paired with rustic accents and accessories, and industrial lighting allows for a comfortable dichotomy that fits within a San Diego casual lifestyle.

Saddle up to Cowboy Star Restaurant on 10^th Avenue in the East Village for an entirely new design experience. This seamlessly converted warehouse space is the perfect combination of modern design, just the right touch of theme and a creative use and mix of materials. No howdy here, but be welcomed by a gas fireplace, a cowhide sofa, and rocking chairs while you wait to be seated. Walk past the open styled chef’s kitchen surrounded in exposed wood beams and stainless steel panels. Take note of the exposed brick wall lined with photographs of landscapes and cowboys that have you thinking it’s time to chow time.
