Harney Sushi

What you eat matters, and by eating at Harney Sushi eco-savvy customers can feel good about eating sushi off Harney’s socially-responsible menu, while grooving to the beat of the live music (everything from reggae to soul and jazz) in this funky, alluring atmosphere. Publically committing to cleansing their menu of harmful ingredients that put the ocean in danger, this sustainable sushi restaurant takes responsibility for what it serves, by making seafood that benefits both the ecosystem and our heath.

The fishes that we have long been accustomed to tasting at top sushi spots – Toro, Big Eye Tuna, Bluefin Tuna, Unagi, Red Snapper, Hamachi, marine Sea Urchin, Octopus, and certain Yellowfin – are wiped away from Harney’s menus. These environmentally-harmful ingredients are what the restaurant industry is recognizing as short-in-supply fish, slowing depleting resources and destroying the ocean. In this way, Harney is doing their part to reduce their negative impact. For customers who care about their planet enough to change the way they eat, Harney Sushi is the solution.

Not only do they offer a full guide to the sustainable seafood available on the front page of their menu, but the restaurant has also recently become one of the first restaurants in the US to offer edible technology – offering QR codes on the sushi itself! These codes, printed on rice paper wafers with water-based ink, are totally safe to eat. And by having them, customers are linked to the NOAA (National Oceanic and Atmospheric Administration) website, which provides customers sustainability information on the fish they are actually about to eat, as well as other sustainable seafood news. Basically, it’s an ecological biography of your dinner!

Taste the difference and visit Harney Sushi.
