Tough Mudder will test more than your fitness, as it will challenge your mental strength, determination, and teamwork skills. However, you must bring much more than your A-game to the event.

Make no mistake, you are going to feel tired, sore, and incredibly dirty after completing every obstacle, but you can trust it will be worth every second of your discomfort. Keep reading to discover what you need to take when doing a Tough Mudder.
Your Charity T-Shirt
Don’t forget to slip on your charity t-shirt before or once you arrive at the event. It will showcase the worthy organization for which you are raising money while inspiring you to push yourself harder during each obstacle. If you haven’t picked a charity yet, there are various organizations you can support, such as Tough Mudder for charity with Macmillan.
Your Ticket and ID
The last thing you will want is to be denied entry at the gate. Avoid issues by bringing along your ticket and identification with you. It is smart to screenshot the QR code on your confirmation email and don’t forget to take your passport, driving licence, or another form of valid photo ID. Also, you’ll need to sign a digital waiver once you arrive.
A Change of Clothes
Expect to be more than a little messy once you’ve completed Tough Mudder. You will be walking, running, and crawling through mud during various obstacles, and it will reach places you never thought possible.
You might want to wear the mud with pride once the event is over, but you will want a change of clothing after an hour of walking around covered from head to toe in dirt. Bring a fresh set of clothes and use the rinse stations available to ensure you don’t destroy your car or a train’s interior. Don’t forget to bring fresh underwear, non-slip socks, shoes, a jacket, and a towel, and carry a plastic bag for your dirty clothes and shoes.
2 Liters of Water (Minimum)
Good hydration is essential during Tough Mudder, as you will push your body harder than you ever thought possible. You will be running, climbing, jumping, and crawling throughout the event and will need energy to complete every obstacle. For this reason, you must bring along a minimum of two liters of water to ensure you are well-hydrated. You will be able to grab some much-needed water once you cross the finish line, too.
A High-Quality Pair of Gloves
A good pair of gloves will be worth their weight in gold when tackling some obstacles, such as Funky Monkey, Mudderhorn, and Well Swung. Yes, the gloves will get muddy and wet, but they will still provide better grip and protection than your bare hands.

Nutrient-Rich Snacks
Pack some nutrient-rich snacks in your bag to fuel your body before the grueling challenge. Munch on a protein bar, almonds, or walnuts as you warm up, as they will provide your body with more power, energy, and motivation to complete the physically taxing course.
