A Look at Some of the Different Types of Fencing Products Available to You

You may want to install a new fence for a number of reasons. Whether it’s to increase privacy for your family and friends or simply because you want to make your backyard more attractive, whatever your reasons for wanting to install a new fence line, it’s important you take advantage of the right fencing material to suit the style of your yard, but also to suit the needs of finances and privacy. Here are some of the different types of fencing materials you can choose.

Wooden Fencing

Wooden fencing has been one of the most popular materials for decades in front and backyards around the world. To this date, it’s still relied upon by many because of the benefits that separate it from other materials. Not only is it one of the most affordable materials on the market, but it’s also very customizable to suit the needs of those backyards that are elevated in some areas and lower in others. Wooden fencing comes with a lot of pros, but it’s not perfect and, like all the other fencing products on the market, it also comes with a few cons. One of those cons is the fact it’s not as robust as the likes of steel or aluminum fencing. Nor is it easy to maintain. However, the cost of wooden fencing is much lower than that of its competitors, so it’s perfect for yards looking to keep their natural finish for a fraction of the cost.

Aluminum Fencing

Aluminum is a great alternative to steel products in terms of price. In fact, most aluminum fencing products are nearly half as cheap because of their lightweight infrastructure. Aluminum is also very easy to maintain and decorate because it doesn’t corrode in tougher weather climates. Installation of aluminum fencing is also a lot cheaper simply because it’s much lighter than other fencing materials. The only con of aluminum fencing is that it isn’t as strong as steel, so it can be bent fairly easily. However, if that isn’t so much of a concern for you because you live in a nice area where weather conditions aren’t as rough, aluminum fencing should almost certainly be considered for your new fence line.

Steel Fencing

Other than the fact most steel fencing products don’t provide as much privacy as wood, nor is it very cheap to get hold of, it’s still one of the best fencing materials on the planet. Steel is very easy to maintain and lasts a lifetime, so you could say that it’s a product worth its weight in gold. In fact, steel fencing products can be left alone with very minimal maintenance thanks to their durability in different weather climates. Steel has always been an expensive product in the fencing industry, but installation doesn’t come cheap either, which is one of its very few downfalls.

Metal Siding

Metal siding works in the same way as wooden fence panels. In fact, it’s pretty much the same idea it’s just a different material. Metal siding comes at a higher cost than wooden fence panels, but it’s a cost worth considering if you want something more durable and something that’s going to last for years. Metal siding is much easier to care for as well, so if you live in an area that experiences rough weather conditions, this could well be the fencing option for you. Installation is relatively straightforward, but it’s always worth considering a professional to get the job done right. You can look at metal siding installation prices here.

Vinyl/PVC

Vinyl/PVC fencing solutions have become much more popular in recent years thanks to the many benefits it provides. It’s not quite as strong as steel and never will be, but it’s still got the durability to last. One of the main reasons why vinyl/PVC solutions are becoming popular these days is simply because it looks like wood, isn’t much more expensive, but still provides a robust solution for yards looking for more. If you have children running around the garden, vinyl/PVC solutions provide a safer playing atmosphere because the material doesn’t splinter like wood. You may also benefit from the fact vinyl is very low maintenance and won’t need repainting due to damage (unless you fancy a change of color).

There are many other products making their way onto the market like ColourFence which is deemed to be the next popular material in the fencing industry. However, if you’re looking for something that’s already been tried and tested by millions worldwide, your best bet is to select a material like one of the ones above. Of course, your choice will all depend on the style of your yard, how much privacy you seek, and how much you’re willing to pay for a new fence line.
