Be the Envy of Your Neighbors with an Outdoor Kitchen

Outdoor Kitchen

Outdoor barbecues have long been a popular way to make the most of the good weather and invite your friends and family round for burgers, kebabs and whatever else you want to throw on. Nowadays, there is a new trend emerging for outdoor dining habits and we’re now seeing a high demand for fully fitted outdoor kitchens to be built, taking entertaining guests to a whole new level.

Being outdoors is great for well-being and the more time you can spend outside, the better. As well as giving a well-needed Vitamin D dosage, spending time outdoors is attributed to helping to reduce stress levels. In some households, the most stressful area tends to be the kitchen, so by taking your kitchen activities outdoors, you’re on to a winner already.

Doing the washing up doesn’t seem quite as boring if you’re looking out at nature or if you have roof top space, taking in the views around you. Another great reason to think about getting an outdoor kitchen, is the ease of getting utensils, plates etc. ready. How many times has the BBQ chef shouted ‘get the plates’ as soon as the burgers are done, for someone to come back a few minutes later with plates to take the now cremated burgers?  No one is going to come to your next BBQ on that basis.

Another frequent problem with BBQs is that you can sometimes get a little bit lazy or forgetful when it comes to cleaning up. Hygiene is a big concern with BBQs and lots of people get it wrong (you can get some good hygiene tips here). If you have a sink right next to you, it is so much quicker and easier to get everything cleaned up straight afterwards. You can keep all of the necessary cleaning equipment stored in the outdoor cabinets. You don’t have to worry about the weather taking a turn for a worse with a stainless steel kitchen.

Outdoor kitchens mean you can cater easier for bigger groups of people, so if you’re looking to throw a party, an outdoor kitchen and living space is ideal. BBQs don’t lend themselves to a range of cooking methods in the same way that the large range of outdoor appliances can. Furthermore, if you’re having a party you don’t want all that mess and drink spillage taking place inside your house. If you hold it outdoors then you can easily clear up afterwards taking mess straight into the recycling bins and no need to worry about people staining your carpets with red wine or coca cola.

In addition to the convenience from a cleaning perspective, as the cook/chef you will feel like you can actually socialize with your guests instead of being hidden behind a cloud of smoke, not being able to take your eyes off the food for fear of it getting burnt. Smoke is another BBQ sour point. It is inevitable that the chef will absolutely stink within minutes of the BBQ being lit and your guests will not only be avoiding that smell, they will be trying to move out of the way that the smoke is heading. All of that doesn’t make for a nice, relaxing social event but a plush outdoor kitchen surrounded by plenty of living area for your guests to relax in certainly does.
