Getting Your Yard Ready to Dine Outdoors This Summer What You Need

The garden is the place to be this summer. Everyone wants to relax in the sun, but, to do that, you need your garden kitted out. If you’re looking for all the best ideas to make your garden your second home, take a look at our guide.

The seating

The seating comes in many forms. The two main differences you can choose between are solid metal dining room sets or squishy, cuddly sofas. We suppose it all depends on the kind of vibe you want to give off. Do you want to sit with your coffee and newspaper and enjoy the sunrise and pretend you’re in a European villa, or do you want to roast marshmallows around your fire pit and snuggle up?

And with the world renewing the love of their gardens, there are a lot of new options out there. You can get – in addition to the usual outdoor sofa and dining sets – outdoor daybeds, for instance – allowing yourself ultimate personalisation.

The grill

Grills have been given a huge upgrade of late. Some come embedded into the table so you can grab your steak and start eating, and some look more like an entire kitchen pulled into the patio. These glorious grills can be kitted out with stoves, pizza ovens, and coffee makers for a shiny prize for any home cook.

The canopy

Depending on where you are, getting a canopy for your new set will be of varying degrees of importance to you, but even if you’re not living in the Amazon rainforest, you can do with some coverage to protect your patio furniture from the sun. Your seating won’t bleach or rust – or at least will do so less.

Plus, a canopy can protect you and your guests. If the shade of the trees isn’t giving you enough protection from the sun, you can get yourself a canopy and spend slightly less money on factor 50.

The plants

A garden is going to look pretty empty without any plants, and in this eco-conscious time, wild, chaotic, well-filled gardens are far more appealing than the baren view of plastic grass and nothing else.

So, head to your nearest garden centre and put that green thumb to work. You’ll want a healthy balance of flowers and bushes, though the two aren’t mutually exclusive. For a modern trend, something that’s coming back in style is wall-crawling ivy. Sure, it’s coming back in bathrooms and hallways as a low-maintenance way of bringing the outdoors indoors, but there is something timeless and lovely about a home exterior coated in ivy.

The food

Well, that’s up to you. Are you someone who invites the whole family round to watch you grill in your “Kiss the Cook” apron? Or are you someone who craves a good salad the second the sun comes out? Or someone who stands by a liquid diet and enjoys a hot chocolate among the critters in the evening and a strong coffee among the birdsong in the morning? Dine as yo
