Handbags: The New Statement Piece

Many fashionistas use a necklace or bracelet as their outfit’s statement piece, but they may have to change their tune this winter. Designers such as Anya Hindmarch, Burberry, and Gucci have all designed handbags with the same thing in mind: handbags are the new statement piece. If you’re unsure as to what a ‘statement piece’ is, it’s a piece of clothing or jewelry worn to make an outfit pop. Read on to know exactly what handbags you need to carry as your statement piece this winter. 

Burberry

With no two handbags created the same, legendary fashion house Burberry created their new runway bag with their trench coat belts as inspiration. All of the bags are made from snake or calfskin and include an array of fall and winter colors. These bags are made for the businesswoman on the go, who doesn’t like their wardrobe to be dull, but can’t overdo it at the office. Pair any one of these shoulder bags with a high-waist pencil skirt, a white blouse, and a pair of comfortable pumps to watch heads turn as soon as you step foot in the office!

Gucci

Another notable name in fashion, Gucci, manufactured numerous statement piece handbags for their Fall/Winter 2016 Collection. Similar to Burberry, Gucci put their focus on their shoulder bags. Stars, flowers, birds, and fully-manicured hands grace these logo-printed bags. These statement pieces were made especially for the fashionista who loves to play with prints and patterns, but still keeps it minimal. Rock any one of these bags during a girls’ day or brunch, and you’ll always be in style.

Anya Hindmarch

My favorite handbag designer from the Fall 2016 runway shows is Anya Hindmarch. Her handbags are made for the woman who loves to make a statement, whether it’s at a formal party or a family barbeque. She incorporates a love for stickers, ranging from cute and funny sayings, to smiley faces and peace signs. She also uses colorful geometric patterns on some of her bags. 

Burberry

From everyday women, to the fashionable businesswomen, there is no right or wrong way to wear these new statement pieces. Gucci, Burberry, and Anya Hindmarch are just three of the many designers who have gotten the memo about the new handbag statement piece trend. All of these designers, as well as their handbags, can be purchased in many high-end retailers.
