How To Make The Most Of A Quiet Day At Home

When you love your own home, and you’ve spent time and effort (not to mention money) on making it look exactly the way you want it, you might want to spend a quiet day there enjoying your surroundings. Sometimes it’s good to just stay at home and relax for a while, especially if you are usually extremely busy and don’t get a chance to unwind very often. If you like the idea of resting at home, but you aren’t sure what you would do there, here are some great ideas.

Sleep In

If you’re taking a whole day off to yourself, then take the opportunity to sleep in! You’ll have no particular place to be and no particular deadlines to worry about so don’t set your alarm and sleep until you wake up naturally. You’ll feel a lot better for it and since this is something that you will rarely get the chance to do, enjoy every moment.

If you find that you can’t sleep in because you’re so used to getting up early, then try to make time for a nap during the day instead. Getting enough sleep is good for your health so it’s important to sleep when you can.

Binge Watch

Make yourself comfortable on the couch and switch the TV on; it’s time to catch up on all the shows that you’ve meant to watch for weeks (or perhaps even months). If your TV’s hard drive is getting full or you’re worried you’re going to miss out on a Netflix original that everyone is talking about, now’s your chance to get stuck in – you can spend hours just enjoying the TV and all it has to offer.

Watching TV is a good way to get your mind and body re-set, plus you can always do other things at the same time such as check your NFLX stock price, plan a vacation, or look into a class or workshop you might like to take to stimulate your brain a little more, or to get some exercise in.

Order Takeout

A lazy, relaxing, wonderful day in your gorgeous home can be ruined if you have to stop all that relaxing and recharging and cook yourself something. Even if you enjoy creating delicious dishes, it can still get in the way of a great day off. Ordering takeout isn’t something you should do on a regular basis, but when you really need to rest up, and you’re enjoying some alone time, ordering food to be delivered is the perfect answer.

Soak In The Tub

When was the last time you had a long soak in a hot, bubbly bath? We’re normally so busy that a quick shower is all we have time for, so when you do have an extra hour or so a bath is a great idea. Pour relaxing essential oils or moisturizing bubbles into the water to make your soak even more luxurious. If you want to spoil yourself take a good book in with you or listen to music. You could even pour yourself a glass of wine to sip and light some candles.
