Indulge and Rock Out at KAABOO Del Mar

Experience a festival for all of the senses this September at the three day KAABOO Del Mar event. Deemed the "mix-experience" of a lifetime, the music festival offers so much more than just an amazing lineup of performers. From September 16–18, guests can participate in events and areas dedicated to comedy, art, food and so much more than any other festival could offer. 

KAABOO features one of the most extensive music lineups of the year, with renowned headliners each day of the festival, like Jimmy Buffet, Aerosmith and Jack Johnson. Every single day the lineup is chock full of big names and incredible talent from just about every genre of music. If you’re not quite ready to turn in for the night, check out the 18+ Encore section, a full-on dance party that extends until 2:30 am. Featured performances from top artists, such as Grammy Award–nominated Steve Aoki and mega-famous, three-time Grammy Award-winner Ludacris. Encore is the ultimate place to get your groove on, after hours.

To catch a break from the wonderful chaos of the constant music outside, Humor Me provides a relaxing atmosphere to unwind. Catch your breath as you cool down inside and listen to some of the top comedians in the business. Some of the cast of the HBO comedy series Silicon Valley will perform, proving their comedic talents off the camera. Famous stoner duo Cheech and Chong are among the featured comedians; their hilarious antics and quirky relationship will make an unforgettable show. Along with well-known comics, there are a number of openings for emerging comedians to take the stage, and the list of names will keep growing through the weekend!

Unlike most music festivals, KAABOO cares about the quality of food served during the weekend. The festival serves up an entire event solely dedicated to cuisine at Palate! Guests can venture about, sampling from an array of artisanal masterpieces and regional specialties. Exclusive wines and craft drinks are another feature of Palate, which pair fantastically with samples from local chefs and restaurants. At the Palate stage, you will also find Locale, a place where skilled chefs compete in cook-offs, celebrity chefs give demonstrations to guests, and surprise musical performances strike a chord! You’ll walk out of Palate with a new appreciation for FINE cooking.

At KAABOO creatives thrive, and that certainly applies to the artists who will exhibit their work through the weekend. Some artists will bring their favorite pieces to display, while others will create new ones in live demonstrations The Contemporary Art Fair is an expose of over 80 different artists displaying their pieces, ranging from paintings to jewelry. The indoor event will showcase amazing artists and their art—some of which you can even take home! There are so many gifted artists to discover and converse with at the fair; it’s truly a unique time to unwind for a moment and appreciate the immense ingenuity of local artisans.

The events alone are enough to keep you busy through the three days of the festival, but some of the other activities include self-indulgence and plain relaxation. As a way to kick back on the beach while still listening to your favorite performers, Bask is a section of the festival dedicated to stretching out on the sand and soaking up the sun with your friends. Indulgences covers the pampering for the weekend, complete with spa packages, beauty consultations and shopping. When you’re in need of a little pampering time, look no further than to one of these sections to relax and get away from the crowds.

Passes for the festival come in two levels (not including the Hang Ten passes, which are already sold out). The first level of passes begins with the Hang Loose category, which includes access to basic viewing areas at all stages, entrance to Humor Me and other basic entry to all other entertainment. Three day passes start at $299 and one day passes at $119 any day of the weekend. Hang Five passes include all of the features of the Hang Loose pass and more. With this pass, you’re invited to a sneak preview of the festival on Thursday with an exclusive party. VIP parking, the opportunity to reserve seats at Humor Me and entry into viewing sections and lounges are also perks of this pass. Three day passes begin at $799 and one day passes at $299. Children 17 and under are allowed to attend the festival—minus entry into Encore—but they must be accompanied by a guardian or parent of age.
