San Diego’s favorite festival returns this month––that’s right. KAABOO Del Mar. This annual three-day extravaganza dives headfirst into a spectacular lineup of music, comedy, art and food for a weekend of wall-to-wall awesome. For those who aren’t familiar with the festival, there are plenty of reasons to make this year your introductory experience. KAABOO creates a weekend of fully immersive and indulgent activities. Where else can you go from the rocking out at the mainstage alongside P!nk, MUSE, and more, to dining on gourmet culinary creations, to relaxing poolside with a cocktail, to enjoying a salon-quality beauty service, all in one place? Only at KAABOO of course. For the festival-goer in search of a top-tier experience that requires none of the the inconvenience of camping and discomfort of other global events, KAABOO can’t be beat.

The multi-tiered festival starts with its music lineup. Including a huge array of diverse artists, this is the place to get your performance fix from the top artists in the country in nearly every genre. Leading the mainstage are the four headlining acts––P!nk, MUSE, The Red Hot Chili Peppers, and Tom Petty & The Heartbreakers. Pop fans find their niche with artists like Kesha, Jason Derulo, David Guetta, Andy Grammer and Timeflies joining the lineup. For the alt-rock and rock genres, don’t miss Weezer, Milky Chance, Alanis Morissette, Jane’s Addiction, and X Ambassadors. Rappers Logic, Machine Gun Kelly, T-Pain and Ice Cube round out the performers, plus a slew of other artists across all genres. It’s an all-inclusive music experience that’s shaping up to be incredible (can you tell we’re excited?).

But the excitement doesn’t stop there. KAABOO delivers excellence in four other categories. The Comedy Lineup promises to bring the laughs with big names like David Spade and Patton Oswalt. However, the whole event isn’t purely performance based––the festival provides an entirely visual experience in its art exhibition. There’s a ton of names attending the festival and many will have pieces on display at the KAABOO art gallery, so be sure to stop by and take a look. One artist that will merge visual art and performance is Carly Ealey, a San Diego-based artist and muralist who will be live-painting a mural that will live permanently at the Del Mar Fairgrounds. This will be the largest piece painted at the festival, so be sure to catch it in action.

Even after ingesting every visual and sensory experience the festival has to offer, there is still the matter of food. Not just any food––at KAABOO, there’s an entire culinary lineup, dedicated to serving an incredible dining and drinking experience to tantalize the taste buds to complement a full day of music and art. They call it Palate.

Palate is the most upscale culinary environment at any music festival, even the global trendsetter events that take place here in Southern California. Artisanal chefs will create small-batch specialties for guests, who can also sample local and regional fare alongside limited production craft beer, wine, and cocktails. While the musical headliners take the stage, the nation’s most-esteemed talents in cuisine will take their own stage at Palate, displaying demos and behind-the-scenes glimpses of their delicious creations. Additionally, the finals of the Rock N’ chef competition will be held at Palate, following the previous rounds held in both Los Angeles and San Diego.

Some the best eats to look forward to include tastes from local favorites, including Poseidon Del Mar, Puesto, Searsucker, and The Baked Bear, among others. Enjoy sushi without the chopsticks, courtesy of Buddarito, a vendor that creates sushi burritos. Seafood lovers can enjoy fresh lobster from Wicked Maine, delightful poke bowls from Sweetfin Poke, and exquisite dishes from The Oceanaire Seafood Room. Get a new outlook on Chinese fare with truly traditional flavors, provided by Little Fatty and Bling Bling Dumplings. Health-minded guests can look to Sambazon for custom acai bowls, plus the Healthy Elephant Food Hut and Superfood & Company for mindful eats. The festival will also feature plenty of casual fare as well. Food trucks and vendor booths will be available in a wide range of cuisines, including Chipotle and Dunkin Donuts, as well as bites like gourmet burgers, tasty tacos, hand-tossed pizza, elevated grilled cheese, coffee and ice cream. There’s a taste for every tongue at Palate (even vegetarian, vegan, and gluten free options are available at many vendors!), so when you feel a craving coming on... indulge it.

Palate will also feature premier sips of wine, beer, and cocktails in its exciting lineup. Attendees can expect the best from breweries like Angel City Brewery, Legacy Brewery, Magic Hat Brewery, and more. Wine offerings include La Marca Prosecco, If You See Kay Wine, Nomadica, One Hope, Prophecy, and Ravage, to name a few. And let’s not forget the liquor! Several quality liquors, like Arta Tequila, Bluecoat Gin, Do Good Distillery and several others, join the beverage lineup as well, rounding out a massive menu that will practically require three full days to experience. The lineup is joined by national names Coors, Ballast Point, Sapporo, New Amsterdam Vodka, RumChata, and Dark Horse wine.

Beyond that, KAABOO ensures that its guests will never be bored with a handful of activities  that allow for a full weekend of non-stop fun. KAABOO’s "indulgences" include a day spa and salon services available to men and women during the festival. Health and wellness don’t have to take a backseat to the extravagant festival lifestyle, which is why you can still look after your mind and body by taking a few minutes to relax in between the busy schedule of lineups. After a restorative session, cool off at a massive pool party where guests can enjoy poolside drinks, games, and a direct view of the concert stage. BASK is the "Vegas-style" pool club that offers DJ sets, sandy beach games, and even private cabanas for groups up to six. Finally, when the concerts close for the day, the night is still young. If you’re not ready for the night to end, KAABOO also offers an after-party for the festival via Club Elevate. The indoor nightclub keeps the party going until 1am on Friday and Saturday nights, and features live DJ sets from exclusive artists, plus exotic cocktails and table reservations. Club Elevate is open to guests 18 and older.

No matter how you KAABOO, this weekend is more than a festival, it’s an experience. If you haven’t made plans to attend yet...what are you waiting for?
